Pudendal Nerve pain after sex?

Okay please help! My gyno said that pudendal nerve damage is mainly from birth, surgery, or other trauma. Would rough masturbation cause trauma to the pudendal nerve? Would anyone know? I'm confused why I'm having all the symptoms to this.

Hi,

Whilst the gynaecologist is right there will always be cases that don’t seem to be caused by childbirth etc. I don’t have an answer to your question and it’s probably best if you mention this to your gynaecologist, although I suspect that they won’t be able to give you a definite answer. I’ve included a few links to nhs choices and other sites on pudenal neuralgia and entrapment. These might help you to start up another conversation with your specialist. If you feel that masturbation makes your pain worse it’s probably best not to do it until you’ve spoken to your specialist. I hope this helps.

This one is a bit more medical but still has some good information

I’d just like to add that where information has been provided by a specialist on a hospital website or on their own private website we are suggesting that they are necessary the right doctor for you. As always we would recommend researching a specialist whether you are an nhs or private patient

Trauma should include ‘repetitive stress on the nerve’ as it can get stretched if someone is doing regular stooping and lifting of heavy items. At the same time, ligaments close to the nerve can be overused from repetitive stress stooping and bending over one’s groin and ‘juxtapose’. Over an period of time, this sets the scene for the nerve to become attached to fascia around the ligament and eventually it gets pinched when one sits. Commuting to work and home ( prolonged sitting ) may play a role in this indolently forming neuropathy.

Are you a Mom? Did you deliver vaginally? When did your symptoms start? How would you describe your symptoms?

Did you have a tubal ligation with metal titanium Filshie clips or Hulka clips?

My physiotherapist said that masturbating would NOT cause this at all. Women deliver upwards to 12 pound babies thought their vagina. It was made to stretch for birthing.

I am shocked that you have sexual desire? I have not had sex in over ten years ( I am 61 ) and I have lost all desire. I had the entrapment and I have permanent damage to my right pudendal nerve. Menopause will do this along with having private parts that are permanently injured.
