I am new here and am looking for help in managing my pelvic floor pain/pudental nerve pain. Is there any advice that I can get?

Hello, I would suggest starting with an assessment by a suitably qualified pelvic floor physiotherapist, but make sure that they have experience and training in dealing with this type of pain. Unfortunately, they are not necessarily that easy to find and it might take quite a bit of research. There is a list of PTs on the pudendalhope website, but there are others. You could try the website pelvicphysiotherapy.com (I think that's right), go to the FAQs and scroll down. There is a list of physiotherapists there, though it might only cover Europe. Also, there are a few books you could read, including Amy Stein's 'Heal Pelvic Pain' and 'A Headache in the Pelvis', which I think is by Wise/ Anderson. Anything that might help calm the central nervous system, such as meditation or relaxation techniques can help turn down the volume on the pain. Personally, I find that keeping moving as much as possible helps (sometimes easier said than done). Good luck.

are you taking any medication to help with the pain, if not a trip to your gp would be a good start and try some of the prescription meds available for nerve pain

Thank you so much for your help and I am going to Iowa city to Dr Mazur who does see patients with this issue, also am on Gabapentin which does help also hydrocodone as needed. I have been seeing a physical therapist who also sees patients with this problem, but things are not much better. The Pudental nerve is also giving me pain And cannot sit for any length of time. Guess I just get very depressed and found this sight. Are they any other sights that put out news letters on this?
