Hi just some advice please. I had a iliostomy in April and now am waiting for a total collectomy operation in August. My main problem now is I am constantly tired. I can't wake up in morning and feel more tired when I wake up. I ache all over especially pelvis. Right buttock and Leg. And feel really low and can't be bothered to do anything. Any advice ??

I would contact the surgeon's secretary and explain how you feel especially as you are to have further surgery in August. I hope this helps.

I think it would be a very good idea if your GP could check your bloods to see if you are anaemic, have an infection, or dehydrated. If all these are okay then that is good. You also have to make sure you are eating healthily, drinking plenty of fluids. Go for short walks which can be stimulating and get a good-nights sleep. Then I am sure you will be feeling better soon. Contact us again if you need further advise or support.

Do you mind me asking why you are having a colectomy? I have spoken to a colorectal surgeon b/c of extreme pain in pelvis most likely due to descending or sigmoid colon. He said surgery is out of the question for pain. There has to be an actual pathological reason beyond pain.
