Hello everyone, thanks for answering my previous questions. I think my PN is mainly caused by tight muscles and it spreaded the week it started and I had vestibulectomy. The thing is I live in Turkey there's literally no physiotherapist who knows anything about pelvic pain let alone PN and PNE. So is there anything I can do to help myself?

You can buy the "Therawand" to do therapy in yourself. Also get a tennis ball to roll over any external muscles that are tight.

I can recommend contacting

David McCoid

Restorative Exercise Specialist

MovNat Certified Trainer

I have been doing SKYPE physio sessions that have helped with David, who has been through this himself and understands the devastating effect of PN.

Hope this helps.

What is a therawand?    Something else to take money with no results,,,!

I had PT for PNE for a year. The PT taught me how to find trigger points in the pelvic muscles and use massage to release them. I also use a set of non-vibrating dialators (4 or 5 in each set-small to large). Using non glycerin gel, start with smallest and work up to the largest. I also use lidocaine cream on the end of the last size with gel and leave it in for at least 30 minutes. (I have worked up to this over a years time). I am not in favor of the therawand because it is easy to over use it and cause pain. Using your own finger gives you more control. My pelvic muscles feel very stiff and it takes me a while to relax them. My routine has allowed me to cut down on the amount of pain medicine.

Also, small doses of valium have been shown to be the best pelvic muscle relaxers! I take 5 mg. at night, and can tell a huge difference. Best wishes!!

Thanks all for your responses! I was wondering how I can use this tennis ball? But my problem is on my second branch?

We are all different. I find I can reach the deep muscles better with the therawand, but I use it very gently. For those who can manage better with fingers, then it probably is a waste of money. I use a tennis ball to massage over the piriformis and glute area. I bought my therawand through the IC website. They are not cheap, so it's best to try with your fingers first. Amy Stein advises on how to use the therawand and tennis ball in her book and video.
