My appointment is today at 3.thinking what is best way to approach gp when i see him?
Not wanting to go over old ground but need to make him aware that things are not all fibro.and that my two main concerns are increase in size of abdo and swelling spread to pelvis + pain disabling .and nasal brow/bone growth.ask for a bone scan?
I so can relate to this. I often want to rant and babble on all my concerns all at once, but from experience I know that it doesn't really help!
I would first start off by writing down your concerns on paper. Kind of brainstorm off each concern and why it is concerning you, then you could possibly try and join up some concerns into one or two statements if they are relevant to each other.
Or you could just take your list of concerns and go through them one by one.
I have never requested any tests as I am fortunate enough to have been offered them, but present your reasons as to why you would like this bone scan (obviously due the growth). If they refuse, ask them what they think might be causing it and if it will get worse. If they can't answer you properly then push the scan! Make it clear you do not want to risk it as you are suffering enough.
Stay calm, and if going over old ground backs up your wants and needs, then do it. I don't know why but once you are diagnosed with something, some doctors think that is the cause for everything wrong with you. So frustrating but I wish you the Best of luck and would love to hear how you got on.
thank you so much for your reply .I always do write notes when I see my gp cos know my everything in my head is a scrambled mess.i could link pain /growth in my pelvic bone and nose bone tho they are different .it has been in the last 3 years when probs began and no answers.etc.will let you know how it goes.touch wood it will be ok .
