Does anyone know yet if we are included in the group that will be having this booster? It says those 75+ and immunosuppressed then on website those at high risk, then says will need proof from GP or specialist. So am a bit confused… 🤔🥴

I was wondering the same!
I’m 86, survived PCD and last war living in industrial Birmingham, nightly bombing, went to bed in cold damp air raid shelter every night, had lots of colds and pleurisy, so my lungs are bad, one partly collapsed on other. One would expect in these circumstances I would be eligible now for 4th Jab, but told no by consultant and GP even though I’m classed as extremely vulnerable. Digusted, perhaps they want us old ones gone, even though glad to use us for research. Good luck
Thank you for your reply. But surely because of your age alone you would be getting it, because they are giving it to those 75+…am sure you will be contacted. Perhaps check with 119 (I think that’s the number dealing with Covid jab bookings).Good luck to you too x
As you're eligible (in the over 75 category), you should be able to have the second booster at a walk-in clinic or you can call your GP to book it, if it's been at least six months since your first booster jab. My father, who is also over 75, had his second booster (fourth jab) last week at a walk-in clinic without hearing from his GP or booking an appointment first. He used this link to find a walk-in vaccination site near him: nhs.uk/service-search/find-... I hope this helps!
Thanks, my car is needing attention, not been used for months, have helpful mechanic who collects it in evening, leaves his here. Has ordered item needed to stop array of lights on dashboard, hopefully will do it this week. My younger daughter has had to covid test since last week, if all clear she will be able to come here on Wednesday. She also has badly fractured ankle, might have to have another op.waiting to hear. Wish life was easier!! Notice you have PCD, hope you’re getting all specified care. Thanks for your help.
I've been wondering as well, as it's about six months since I had the first booster. I had a PCD hospital appointment last week, so I asked the doctor. He said we're not eligible at the moment but, as they extended the first booster in the autumn to everyone, it's possible they'll extend this second booster to more categories too. It looks like we need to just wait and see. Fingers crossed!
Thank you for the reply. Staying put is what I will be doing as cases are rising again. I had my PCD appointment at RBH last week too and asked a whole load of other questions and forgot to ask this. I did email his Secretary to ask and find out but not heard anything-but guessing it will be the same response as yours. Thank you again for your reply and stay safe x
Heard Monday that my group practice were doing vaccinations, looked on line on Monday, got appointment for Tuesday morning! Had Moderna, previously had 3 Pfizer. Arm very painful and felt off for few days, gradually improving. Hope you can get yours soon, as people classed as extremely vulnerable it’s disappointing not given some priority. Good luck x
We were told it’s up to your consultant as PCD is not necessarily CEV they are making decisions on a case by case basis & if you’re eligible then consultant will be in touch
