Growing up, what was a memorable family vacation for you?

My father had been a prisoner of war, during this time he became friends with some French nationals. At about the age of 8 I remember our first drive to the south of France to visit with one particular family. Dad drove a Riley one-point-five at the time, a very sporty red as I remember. I learned to swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea. Happy days.
