In the lead up to #RareDiseaseDay on Friday, you will be hearing from the PBC Foundation team this week about why they are supporting rare disease day. Today, we are hearing from Jo:

My name is Jo and I am Patient Insights Manager at the PBC Foundation.

I am supporting rare disease day to raise awareness of rare disease generally and to highlight that the effect of rare disease may be more than you can imagine:

🟣There are more than 6,000 identified rare diseases

🟣There are 300,000 million people living with a rare disease worldwide

🟣The average time to diagnosis of a rare disease is 5 years

🟣 Did you know that PBC affects nine women to every one man?

Rare Disease Day

Remember the 'slogan' for this years campaign is "more than you can imagine". This week I hope to highlight aspects of rare diseases. "It is more than you imagine" for sure.....
