Bile

Bile is the drainage fluid from the liver. Hepatocytes make it and then is modified by the cells of the bile duct.

It has 2 main functions:

1. It helps facilitate the byproducts produced by our liver functioning.

2. It helps transport the bile acids to our bowel, where it has a very important function of absorbing the fat from our diet into our body and making it soluble (able to be mixed with a liquid).
