How has having PBC affected your social life? How do you handle it?

It hasn’t affected my social life. When people have drinks I just have non alcoholic ones. No one cares if I am drinking or not.

It hasn't affected my social life at all, l never drank alcohol in the first place if l go out to eat during the day, which l rarely do, l just ask for coffee or sometimes l just ask for a bottle of water. I used to drink fresh juice where possible but don't do that now because of the sugar content once squeezed.

Glad it hasn't been a problem for you.

I was always the designated driver, by choice, since I actually don’t care for drinking and my husband was ribbed endlessly for not taking a turn so it’s definitely changed his social life!

I never thought about it changing husband's social life.... so often when someone doesn't drink they do become the DD, don't they?! Were you friends understanding of you not drinking?

eventually! particularly because I was adamant I would not do it. It became my quirk and I would always drive home from events and parties which was a benefit. Now of course we are all older and even the heavy drinkers cant indulge like they used to!
