Finally had my fibroscan yesterday, but it did not work due to the fatty infiltration of the liver the probe could not penetrate through to give a reading, so now have to be referred to Blackpool as they have an XL probe which is better. I was disappointed because obviously I got no answers so still in limbo land, back at work on phased return but still can’t cope with the responsibilities of being a practice nurse, and still so tired and itchy, still waiting for a follow up from the consultant. When will things improve ???

Sorry to hear about your disappointment. Would it help to speak with one of our helpline staff at the Foundation? We can talk you through the specifics of where you are on your journey. Yours,
how disappointing for sure... I know it's hard to think that the itch and the fatigue may always part of our lives but having PBC it certainly could be. Have you tried some of the suggestions for itching? PBC is just hard. We didn't ask for this and now we have to cope with it almost on a daily basis. I was a nurse for many years and found it increasingly hard to do 12 shifts. Just try to take one day at a time. I do know how overwhelming this all is. How are your live enzymes numbers being on Urso?
