just wanted to share the latest. You remember when I last posted I was going to Dallas for an mri/mre after a different hepatologist did a fibroscan and said stage 4 fibrosis. My regular hepatologist was in disagreement and sent me to Dallas. Radiology report said possible early cirrhosis. Scared me to death. So he then scheduled a biopsy which I had June 26th. I got my pathology report today. Stage “1” fibrosis. So I suppose Ocaliva has worked wonders in my case. Stage 2 fibrosis at diagnosis in 2017 so it has decreased a little.
happy to say I’m at ease now. I’ll definitely stick with my regular hepatologist.

I am. Thank you. I developed a small incision site hernia on my hysterectomy scar. Ugh! I may have to have it repaired in December or early next year. I'm trying to lose weight slowly and safely before surgery. Feeling pretty good. My numbers are stable. I had a bladder infection a while back that sent my numbers off track but, that's all fixed and overwith. I'm doing pretty good.👍🏻❤️
I remember you posting about the surgery. Hopefully you can get everything where you want it before surgery. You have a strong determination and you’ll get there😊. Glad your numbers are stable.
Thank you. Yea, antibiotics and clean eating. I've lost 40 lbs. Now my surgeon says I may not need to have the surgery after all. It's a small hernia and I hope to keep it that way. I just have to be careful about not lifting anything! I'm 64! I shouldn't be lifting stuff anyway. Still trying to eat right and doing some walking everyday. 🚶♀️❤️
That’s great! I’ll gladly take about 20 of the 40 you lost, lol! I eat everything in my path and gain nothing. It’s a terrible place to be. In fact I’ve been told that due to me being so thin I’m really not a good candidate for fibroscans because the probe can pick up rib vibrations which throws the reading off. I don’t have much faith in fibroscan after all this and the mre isn’t much better in my case I’ll settle fir biopsies and get true results
Yes! Especially when you were told by another hep you had cirrhosis. My hepatologist is sending his report to the other one do he can see how wrong he was.
Well done. Not always easy to find the good one. It took me 5 years to get the right one. The other one was saying that it was in my head and I was crying when I got out of his office because I new something was going wrong with me. I finally got to see the good hepatologist, got score of 9 for my fibroscan 640 AMA positive and also had fatty liver. With good treatement and good dose of ursodiol, 500mg 3 times a day, this year fibroscan gave the result of no more scars and no more fat on the liver ! She was happy and me also 😊.
that’s great! I’ve been seeing my first hepatologist for almost 3 years. The only reason I saw the other one was just a second opinion. I learned my lesson. . My first hepatologist is actually the best. My drs all say he’s the smartest they’ve ever known. We learn a lot along the way don’t we.
I appreciate that. We all know this disease is unpredictable and things can change quick. We have to hang in there and fight it the best we can. Take care😊
