My immunoglobulin level was 954 my doctor suggested Ana test and I have diagnosed with ANA week positive and AMA M2 positive with value of 18.. Positive for PBC

I have been told I may suffer pbc in future presently my l GGT and alkyne phosphate level is normal..

Undergone ultrasound of liver and stiffness was around 6.3kpa and moderate grade fatty liver moderate fatty liver 287IQR/Median.

Am wondering whether I am progressing towards disease or I can reverse the situation.. Before this I was undergoing ivf treatment same was failed thrice.. Life has not started yet... I want to live healthy and happy life....

Am I really progressing TOWARDS PBC disease.. My brother in law who nephroligist consoled me by saying it is not always necessary to have PBC if ama m2 is positive however vice versa is true that the person having PBC will surely have ama m2 positive..

I was little relaxed but now today am feeling mild pain in my lower abdomen is it related to that... Am i really progressing towards the disease... How to reverse.. Seek all your blessings and prayers..

I don’t have anything much to add, because my understanding is the same as you’ve written.

However I am in the same situation as you so I just thought I would reply to show support! I’m 30 so I also felt upset and like my life really hasn’t begun yet when I found out about the antibodies, but I’m feeling a lot more relaxed now.

Hopefully you’ll get some more replies soon. But I would also recommend phoning the PBC foundation helpline, they’re very nice and made me feel alot better.

PBC is a condition that can be managed as long as you respond to meds ie Urso and are monitored by your doctor consistently. My Hepatologist says pbc patients when the condition is managed have the same life expectancy as the general population. It does not impact your starting a family if there are no other conditions that impact fertility. You dont need to worry. Just listen to your doctor and make sure they manage your condition. Live your life and focus on the present.

I’m a RN with PBC. The answer to your question is possibly. If you start developing an elevated ALK phos and/or other liver enzymes that could be a sign of progression So now is the best time to fight for your health

I have a total of four AI diseases. Generally speaking, I suffer flares when I’m stressed out, not eating healthy or getting enough rest. In my particular case, losing weight, eating an abundance of fruit and veggies, eliminating sugar to only a rare treat, and making sure I met the recommended amount of fiber not only made me feel better, it cured my fatty liver disease and reversed my PBC stage from a 1 to a zero. There is much WE can do to battle any chronic illness. Good luck!

I have positive ANA 1:1280. Positive AMA M2 1:120. Positive Anticentromere Aantibody 1:160. I had fatty liver but reversed it recently. My LFTs only AST and ALT have been fluctuating for two years. One month mildly elevated. Two months normal. Then elevated again then normal. My last ultrasound was on February and my liver was normal. My last high LFT was 5/31. AST was 52 should be under 40. ALT was 128 should be under 40. ALP was on the higher end but normal 110 should be under 129. Everything else was normal. I took blood test a month later went down to AST 30. ALT 35. ALP 90. I don’t know why it fluctuates. Gastro says something is irritating my liver. I think it’s PBC but doc says no since ALP and Bilirubin is always normal. Recently my entire body well my arms. Legs. Feet. Hands and abdomen have hyperpigmentation like a dark bronze purple color. Now I really think I have PBC. No itching at all but bad fatigue although I do have Lupus and Raynauds. I have appt in three weeks. What should I say to my doc? Should I ask for biopsy? What do you think? Do I have it?

A biopsy would probably tell you one way or another, and put an end to the uncertainty . Your positive AMA is highly suggestive of PBC. Most people with PBC also have an elevated ALP but you might be in a very early stage. By the way, bilirubin isn’t elevated until later stages of PBC. I’ve never had an elevated bilirubin, and I’ve had PBC for five years. Is your doctor a liver specialist? Doesn’t sound like it.
