Ox bile or TUDCA

Has anyone tried ox bile or TUDCA. Ursodiol causes acne weight gain and hair loss. I have been taking Urso for 9 years. I am taking 500 mg twice a day of ox bile.

I am looking to try Tudca from Dr. Jay Davidson. I noticed he formulated new upgrade of this. I .myself...don't know if it works the same as Urso.

I have taken 500 mg Ursodiol for three years. At first I thought it was causing weight gain, but I took the onset of the pandemic as a way to concentrate more closely on diet ( low fat, low carb, careful portion control) and beef up my exercise a bit (an hour twenty-thirty minutes six days weekly of biking on the nearby city trail. I lost 20 lbs; I weigh 133.Being over 80 years old, I am aware that my metabolism isn’t what it was, but I found that I could determine my weight if I was determined to do so.

I’ve noticed that urso makes me feel WAY hungrier, and less satiated when I do eat. This haze caused 5% weight gain, but I’m trying to just force myself to eat less to deal with it.

No experience with the alternate medicine listed though

I would be interested to know as urso is causing hair loss

I have PBC and take Urso. Been on it for six years. No weight gain, absolutely no hair loss...my hair is very thick and grows like a weed.

I read some very promising articles on TUDCA a few years back. I did use it, but only saw a very slight decrease in numbers. Said you need to take large amounts for quite awhile to make a difference. I had no side effects from it. I do not tolerate URSO

One of the reasons Urso is called Urso is because they used to take this from bears which were kept alive in horrible conditions to supply it. So, presumably, they are doing the same to oxen? I do hope not. I've found the only Urso I can take is UrsoFalk. The pharmacy has tried other versions for me, but the only one that doesn't make me sick is UrsoFalk.
