My husband has free insurance with one the highstreet banks and although I have had PBc 17yrs I've not had a problem getting insured through them

In the past I have had multi trip travel insurance with Holidaysafe and World first but when I looked earlier this year they weren’t issuing new policies for time being. Don’t know if they are now. I got multi trip with Avanti for myself and husband. Wasn’t cheap (but cheapest I could find) and worth it as have family abroad. Also had a similar quote from Staysure. RAC would also cover me but not for multi trip. Hope this helps.

Hi I’ve had used insurewith for the last few years up until the pandemic not the cheapest but cover is ample should you need to claim although not sure how well they payout I’m 72 and my partner is 75 I’m about to try them again!! Be interesting to see the increase after all that’s gone on! Europe with cruise cover was £360 for us both for annual usage before the pandemic. Good luck personally it’s a job I hate to tackle

I am happy with Avanti which was costly as wife and I had numerous issues and age. But was impressed when , with our annual cover costing some £1000, starting Feb 20 so had 12 months with no travel. They accepted my argument that they had been exposed to no risk and gave full credit - then allowed year to restart May 2021 on our first travel. I consider that good and fair service in a sector that probably suffered with little travel during Covid.

I insured this time with Avanti as Worldfirst, who I was previously with, had stopped doing travel insurance. The cost had almost doubled due to insurers now providing Covid cover but it was for 15 months so was the best I could find with my various ailments. I hope I never have to claim and find out how good Avanti is!!

We've just purchased with Holiday Safe. Our bank insurance wouldn't cover me and I had a quote for £900 from another. Holiday Safe covered me with PBC and my husband who has type 1 diabetes for £84 with really good covid cover.
