I’m done with school; no plans for another degree at this time.
I wanted us to go back to normal and felt “freedom” mid May-mid July and then Delta ruined the back to norm. Ugh.
I was doing more fun things but now curtailing it back.
Grammar and writing is a matter of practice and a good textbook. I had excellent teachers in primary and high school, so it is just second nature now. It will come. Just read lots and you get a sense of proper grammar.
I intend to get the booster in Dec, 8 months after my 2nd shot. Haven’t discussed it with my doctor yet, but that is my plan.
I am retired now so the idea of going back to school, a place that I hated, is not something I have thought of, although in my 30s I took 2 years out of work to retrain and then enjoyed the rest of my working life in a job that I loved. I hope you are enjoying your classes, do you plan to use your studies to launch a career path?
Here in the UK we are waiting to hear what dates the booster is going to be available. I had my vaccinations in February and March. I hear that the vaccine that was available to me at the time, Sinovac, has a reduced efficacy over a 6 month period, I am sure you can imagine that I am keen to have the booster. COVID-19 will be with us all quite a while yet and I guess like influenza it is something we will learn to live with. The Delta variant has, of course, thrown a spanner in the works as far as I am concerned so although the rules on mask wearing have been lifted I still wear a mask as much for my protection as for others.
Firstly well done for returning to education, I went to university for the first time at 55, it was daunting at the beginning, but I really enjoyed it and when I passed I was elated. When I started I didn’t even know how to structure an essay let alone have any experience of grammar for writing. One of the people doing the degree was dyslexic and he was fine and was also offered extra support in that direction if needed. So don’t be put off or suffer alone or in silence speak to your tutors I’am sure there’ will be support if you need it. Good luck you’ll do it..
I had my two jabs of Pfizer and to be fair I never really felt covered, as I never had any side effects that convinced me my immune system didn't work on it. I tried an antibody test but couldn’t express enough blood for the finger prick test.
(they wanted 10 drops so it was invalid and I lost the money)
It’s good you get an antibody test first before your booster,
let us know how it goes. I personally can’t wait for a booster to be sure I have some protection, but I don’t think our government will go with it, they seem to be dragging their heels and for a country who approved vaccines first you’d think they’d be right up there on gaining the evidence.
