When my consultant rang me unexpectedly regarding a barrage of blood tests I had done a few weeks ago. Apparently I am now celiac...yet another wonderful adventure. If you include AIH, PBC , hashimoto's, asthma and osteoporosis, I am very blessed lol.
This is going to be interesting.
Take care x

When I was diagnosed my consultant said celiac is closely connected by PBC, that is why he tested me for it without my knowledge. Got AIH also with a few other xx
Removing gluten from my diet was one of the best things that ever happened to me — and I'm not celiac, but I am gluten intolerant. A layer of inflammation lifted pretty quickly for me. I hope you'll have noticeable results for the better, too. It'll make the transition easier. Good luck!
Sorry to hear that, but hopefully with the needed changes in diet it will help to make you feel better. Out of curiosity, how long have you had PBC before the celiac diagnosis? Were you tested originally for celiac and negative, then this came up later in the disease? Just wondering as I've recently been diagnosed with PBC and tested negative for celiac and wondering now if this can come up later in the disease and need re-testing from
Hi Hermansmum, I have had AIH and PBC since 2011. I have only just been told yesterday that I am celiac.
It was funny how things happened for me. In January 2011 I was diagnosed with hashimoto's after finding nodules on my thyroid, in the April of 2011 diagnosed with the AIH and PBC...so within months of each other, but my thyroid has been dodgy for years .
I am waiting to see a dietician for the celiac. I just hope that the change in diet helps. X
