Hi everyone, is it normal to have thin wrinkly skin with lots of age type spots when you have pbc? Over the last few months, since being dx, my skin is looking really bad.

Now in my upper 60s I have crinkly skin, I remember my maternal mother had crinkly skin and liver spots so have thought it to be family and age related. I know keeping yourself well hydrated is supposed to help the skin, also creaming but it makes no difference to me.

Hi, my skin has worsened over the last year and in particular the last 6 months. I am 55, I drink lots of water, I cream and exfoliate but nothing helps.

It could be down to the medication we take . I know we are more sensitive to the sun and I always put sunblock on if I am going out. In winter a moisturizer with soft 20 to 30 is ok but in summer, mine goes up to total sun block factor 50 to 75.

I téléphoned Ursofalk as my skin has gone very wrinkly on my arms. They look like they belong to a 100 year old! They took this seriously and are recording skin dryness. They did said it was unknown. I would suggest we all talk to the manufacturers of Urdso or whatever brand you are on, to let them know that this medication could be causing this dryness problem. I use organic coconut oil as a barrier before showering and wash my arms very lightly. Then reapply afterwards. Take care not to get it on your clothes. Also taking omega 3 oil capsules... Bio gland and am seeing a small improvement.

perhaps this is something to bring to the attention of the PBC Foundation's app. the more they know the more they help us.

My skin is getting thinner with more age spots but I am 72 so I guess that is why. I am fair skinned and don't wear sunscreen so that might also contribute. Always wear moisturiser though 😊

the Sun speeds up wrinkling and PBCers are often sun sensitive. I noticed a shower of liver spots on back of my hand as I put key in my door yesterday. (There was enough light to see them!) I remembered seeing them as a little girl on my grand and great grandmother. Then years later on my mum’s hands. Now on me. We’re gently ageing Spanish Nan. Hydrate and moisturise and go along with it! XX

Guess it's an age thing. I always put my sun tan cream on before I go out as the sun can be very strong here.

Yes,but I'm 66. Age creeps up on all of us. I dont know if it is relaed to PBC but maybe autoimmune problems with the sun. I have gotten bad rashes in the sun since childhood.

I am sorry to hear this! I am 53 and me too! I try and hide my hands. My legs are soo dry and scaley too! You are not alone . We have to happy we have hands right!! ✌️😍

Hi All, the last six months before my transplant last Oct my hands were horrible. Skin was thin and a lot of brown spots on the back of my hands. I think ( and my personal opinion) it is all related to the PBC. I am 53 and I have to say the difference to then and now is like chalk and cheese. I am no hand model but they are not quite as bad. Yes to sunscreen.

Hey there, wrinkly skins can be treated with many facial care solutions which are available nowadays. I used to have wrinkled and untidy skin, to be precise, and I found myself across a website providing forma facial treatment(clearviewplasticsurgery.com... providing a thermal treatment solution for the wrinkled skin of my face and later on gave me the brightened and younger look that I needed.
