I have not had this procedure so I have no useful information for you, but I wish you well for this afternoon and hope that it gives you some relief from the itching which is such a nightmare.

Let us know how you get on.

best wishes

Am actually waiting on a start date for this at the minute, had initial blood tests to check vaccination level and lfts etc last week and just waiting on them calling me with a slot. Be interested to see how you feel it goes although my Consulant i has given me a cast iron guarantee it will help as he has done it on numerous patients in the past, I will be so relieved if it even lessens the intensity of the dreaded itch. Good luck and keep me posted xxx much love

I had plasmaphoresis for several years before my transplant in 2015, My blood type is b negative and I never had any problems, your blood is taken out one arm, goes through a huge machine and the plasma is removed, it is then put back in the other arm along with nice new plasma, I didn’t have any problems with it apart from a drop in blood pressure sometimes and it did help with the itching, good luck 🌸🌸

Hello Kate50 I don't see where I updated but plasmaphoresis 3 sessions did nothing for my itching and my co-pay for each was $580 so nothing gained but a $1740 medical bill :-(

How many sesions/treatments did you have? I was told that my difficult veins would be an issue if I tried having them more than once a week. I have heard others mention magnesium spray but not sure what type but they said it help itching so I am going to search on amazon.

Hoping all is well with you! Happy Holidays!!!
