I had the liver biopsy yesterday . Now to await the results.
I had no problem at all. The doctor only uses freezing at the point of needle insertion which stung a tiny bit. When he took the sample there was brief pain. I’m concerned though as only one sample was taken and everything I’ve read the protocol is minimum of two, so hope it doesn’t need repeating.
Overnight I’ve had some pain in my side, and some on deep breathing but nothing major. Just regular strength Tylenol helped.
This is my second biopsy. The one two years ago, the doctor used sedation by intravenous, and i was less anxious. But without sedation it was not intolerable at all. So if you are needing a biopsy, it’s a “ piece of cake”. Don’t get worried. Not at all bad.

Good to see your biopsy went well, it will help others who have to get one done, to read your post. I’ve never had one it was suggested once at diagnosis but I refused. It was not needed for diagnosis so I thought why bother. Stay well.
Thank you for your post! I'm glad the procedure went well for you and that there wasn't too much discomfort. I'm scheduled to have a liver biopsy this coming Friday. 😬
Hope you do not have to wait too long for your results. 🙏
jeanb47- thank you for posting this, it's a help to hear it fresh from one who had the procedure, as well as other people's reports of ones they had in the past. I like to hear reassuring and positive reports - I haven't had one, it is not proposed, but who knows when it may be. And if that happens, I have regular reports here that have me ready for it. Very best wishes for the results you are hoping for Jean.
