PBC Maybe?
Hi staylor1776
Your profile does not show which country you are in so its a bit difficult to know whether you have private cover - if so after 10 months of waiting for a diagnosis it would indicate you need to change your specialist or if you are in the UK and have NHS cover - if you are not getting results from the specialist it may be a good idea to ask for a referral to another specialist in the area or to one of the centre of excellence hospitals such as Newcastle. These results indicate other possibilities and a doctor knowing your case is the best person to go back to. Sometimes we have to keep on at them until we get the answer right.
If neither of these options are available to you perhaps the PBC Foundation might be able to help you.
Thank you for the reply, I live in the US. I have swollen liver and spleen as well and high cholesterol with a history of high ALT functions. My stools are yellow and gross, I am feeling frustrated with red palms and sore joints especially hips.
Didn’t the biopsy confirm what is causing your issues? When my biopsy came back, it was not definitive with a clear diagnosis.
The hepatologist then had my biopsy slides sent to a world renown liver pathologist for a 2nd opinion & diagnosed the pbc. My hepatologist prescribed urso upon diagnosis.
You might want to see a hepatologist & have him/her get a second opinion on the biopsy slides.
