Interesting...NASH is a very prevalent condition given the increasing obesity levels in the US/Western countries. If Intercept can develop a combo drug with effiacacy sans toxicity for NASH, will be a very big deal & a major revenue driver.

Like Joan Osborne's song...What if the cure is worse than the disease. Thanks for the article. Be well

Hi,

So far, 2 weeks in, I'm good. A few stomach\liver aches, some dizziness, but nothing more. A bit more tired but I had a B12 shot last Thursday and its supposed to last 30 days. We will see. I do have a bit more energy. So, I'll be having labs next Friday. That will be 3 weeks on OCA (Ocaliva) and hopefully i will show some improvement by then. I plan on posting my baseline numbers and my new lab results since being on OCA.

How are you?

I hope that your labs improve. I stopped taking my immune suppressant by recommendation from my liver dr. I’m praying that I have a repeat from last May when I stopped my immune suppressant so that I could have the surgery to remove my implants. I did very well last year. I was also taking 7,5 mgs of prednisone at the time. I’m now down to 5. I was supposed to taper again at the end of March. I joined the Crohns and ulcerative colitis group in this forum. My GI dr said that the medication that I’m taking for autoimmune hep is the same as ulcerative colitis. What ever is going on with me is in my small intestine and is considered mild. Holly cow if this pain is mild I do not know what severe is. My husband helped me to the truck and I fell. Lol. If you ever have to go to the hospital and get admitted and you fall 24 hours before, the dr will put you as a fall risk patent. I tripped over a branch. I sort of had I minor melt down at the emergency room before having my Ct scan. I was concerned for my liver. The dr put Ativan in my iv. I was badly dehydrated. I got a lecture about letting the bathroom issue go on for two weeks before seeking help.

Oh my!! Hydrate hydrate hydrate!! And especially with the digestive issues. Lol.... I've fallen twice. Same reason, slipped on a dog bowl one time, and the other it was a cat hairball!! Yuck!! But, it wasn't because I'm unsteady or dizzy enough to be a bonafide fall risk. Take care of yourself. I pray all goes as you are hoping for Jenny! ❤

I shouldn’t of mentioned the fall. I fell walking to a window ledge to bring my cat in the house. I had a pretty good feeling that I was going to be admitted. I was actually surprised that I was so dehydrated. I was drinking water but I guess that I wasn’t holding it. Apparently aih isnt as rare and can be very dangerous if we get sick. I will find out more what’s going on after I have the colonoscopy. Getting older isn’t for sissies. That is for sure
