Just a quick one over the last dew days my belly has been making bubby noises really bubbley so much so people can hear them.
I haven't been to the go but i look like im getting the start of it. Ive done the tapping thing and the flick wave test and it seems that it is.
I was just wondering if anyone had the same symptoms as me. Thanks nick

Can’t say I have a problem but I was scared a while back and went to the doctor, thankfully nothing but wind. I read somewhere once: Can you hold your tummy in, if you can it’s not likely to be acities , but dont know how reliable that is. Like anything if your worried you should get evaluated by the doctor stress is not good for us with pbc.
I used to work with people who had ascites, and you would know if you had it. You would look 9 months pregnant, and you would have huge veins all around the abdomen. You would be very ill indeed!!
Hi, do you know what your albumin level is?? This is the protein that when low allows fluid to seep out into the abdomen/ legs. My consultant said once it gets to 30 and under is when you may see ascites. Mine is currently 31, but did go to 30 and my legs were swollen and quite uncomfortable. Just like the end of pregnancy!! A ultrasound or ct scan can identify ascites, but a blood test would tell you what is happening with protein in your blood .
Hi gwillistexas, I think the clue to that is in your name, these are UK values. Obviously our labs use a different unit to yours. Our normal range is 35 - 50 g/l, so its just a different unit measure. It would mean a level of 30 is 3.0 in your labs.
I think that's very unlikely, its a slow descent with Pbc, and is part of advanced disease. Most likely bloating causing your swollen tummy. There are members on here who have been found to be Celiac's, actual gluten allergy, rather than the made up intolerance that was fashionable. As it is also an auto immune illness. If you are having lots of bloating along with changes in bowel habit see your GP. Don't cut out gluten until you've been tested as you won't get an accurate result. See NHS website for further info.
