Itch

I have recently moved to Spain and my itching has completely disappeared. This is so weird as it has been really bad for the past 12 months whilst living in the UK. Just hoping I stay as well as I feel now. I have been on urso for 6 months. Just wonder why?

Are you doing anything else different? Perhaps eating different food or using a different brand of medications or supplements?

No, strange thing is my itching stopped just a day after we arrived.

This is great news Spanishnan long may it continue.

Although it is said that the itch is caused by the build up of bile salts I believe stress plays an important part as well. My itch went ballistic back in 2014 when two unrelated but very stressful events occurred in close succession. One is still an ongoing problem as is my "itch" which is medicated so not as bad as it was. I am lucky enough to go away for quite long periods of time (4-5 weeks) to sunnier shores but my itch remains a constant in the background.

Perhaps now you have settled in and are living a new norm any residue of stress has gone along with the itch. I hope so for you.

best wishes

Wonder if could be anything to do with the heat???

Or is it anything to do with the timing of the urso??

Are your bld levels also improved?? Best cazer.

Haven't had any blood tests over here yet but will let you know when I have. Only been here 3 weeks. Fingers crossed😎😎😎

Spanishnan - first a warning - we are all on our way to yours... :-) It would be good to compare your bloods, Blighty/Spain. I'm interested to know if the answer is the under-the-skin absorption of Vitamin D that you are now having in a relaxed atmosphere and the consequences of this gear-change in nutrition and stress on your body. I hope you will be able to let us know the blood comparisons. I'm so happy for you, thank you for sharing.

Hi spanishnan. My itch was horrendous for about a year. I went to Spain on holiday with my family in April. I took my supply of questrian light bit for some reason never needed it and have not had the itch since!!. I was only ther for a week . I'm over the moon and hoping a week in the sun has something to do with it. I do believe you will be free from it now that you are living in Spain in the sunshine. Im so happy for you. Enjoy 👍😊

What excellent news! I love Spain; studied there years ago and have friends in Madrid. I also live in a warm and sunny environment (Miami) and have never had a problem with itching, but as soon as I visit family up north where the air is dryer and cooler I have terrible leg itch when I get out of the shower. It goes away after a while, thank goodness. Maybe humidity and sunshine have something to do with it.

Hi Spanishnan

that is fantastic news, I'm delighted for you.

Have you changed your diet in any way?

I thankfully only ever get "the Ants" from time to time and can pinpoint the reason to bowel movement / lack of.. (without being rude)

Enjoy every minute of Spain

Enjoying a Mediterranean diet. Maybe that helps as no problems with my bowels here. I am much more relaxed and don't have to wear uncomfortable clothes, just loose fitting, sleeveless dresses. 😎😎😎
