Great lab results

Domenia70 profile image
38 Replies

Hi I've been here for a while but never posted anything. Today I want to share a great news - I just got my lab results and turns out that they have never been so good as they are now. I have been diagnosed with PBC 15 years ago at the age of 25. Aside from PBC I also have Sjogren's and I am celiac. I started my personal journey to perfect health many years ago, but 8 months ago I enrolled in "natural nutrition" course and it seems like everything I am doing works great for my body. My ALT & AST are within the normal range (have never been there), alkaline phosphatase is only slightly elevated (went down from over a 1000 to 138!) and GGT is 79 which is high (I don't know what it was before). I changed my diet completely, added some supplements, started making kefir and kombucha at home, started buying organic produce, I know I could do more for exercise but don't always have time, but all the other things seems to be working great for me. If I could be of any help to anyone struggling with the diet or supplements, please let me know and I will happily share what worked for me.

Wishing you all great health. Stay positive.

Dominica

That’s very nice to hear it.

I’m 31yo and don’t know how long i had PBC, just discovered high AST & ALT & ALP beside positive AMA and ANA. I’m undergoing liver biopsy tomorrow to distinguish between pbc or AIH or both.

I’ve joined here in couple of days and the fact that stressed me was my younger age in comparison to others. I thought I might have poorer prognosis because of my young age.Now I’m happy that found you. Please please tell what happened to you during these 15 years, are you feeling well?

I have no symptoms but dry eye.

To be honest I have never felt as good as I am feeling now. And I am not even doing all the things I know are good for me, there is still much more that can be done :) So don't be scared, when you take care of yourself PBC progression can be very slow so you can have a long, healthy and happy life :)

Thank you for taking your time to respond me. Your sentence gives me lots of hope❤️❤️❤️I’ve done biopsy today. Just wish all of these was a bad dream.

No, seriously I think that we should all learn how to listen to the messages our body is sending to us. Your body is not against you - it is trying to tell you something. Probably that you are doing something wrong. Maybe you have too much stress in your life? I know that for me stress was a big thing... Be positive. Once you know something is happening, you can deal with it :)

Yes I suffered lots of stress last year, I lost my mom and after that never been happy.

Your advices are really amazing I will keep them in my mind. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Domenia70 profile image
Domenia70 in reply toSona_akb

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I can only imagine how devastating such a thing would be :( But you have to live your life, your mom would want you to be healthy and happy. I hope that you have friends that support you and other family members. Have you tried meditation or yoga? They are amazing for stress. And stress is a huge factor that triggers autoimmunity, especially if your body is already compromised...

You’re very kind❤️❤️ Thank you for your advice and support.

I can’t manage my stress at the moment because I’m wondering about my stage and scared of being high stages.

I appreciate the way you overcome the situation and hope I could act like you.

in reply toSona_akb

I'm 30 and also have PBC. It's a shock to get such a diagnosis at this stage of life!

Agree. I haven’t slept a single night after knowing my positive AMA. I’m newly married and can’t overcome these illnesses at the moment when others are happily love each other.

Congratulations! This is amazing and it’s great to hear about such improvement. Are you taking Urso? And did you see improvement over the years from your highest levels or did the drop toward normal occur over the 8 months of clean eating? You inspire me. Thanks,

Domenia70 profile image
Domenia70 in reply toOttley3

I started making changes many years ago but I feel that the biggest progress was during the last 8 months - my alkaline phosphatase went down from about 350 last year to 138 now! And that was the time when I made biggest changes. Thanks for your warm words, I think that we are all much stronger than we realise and able to do much more than we think! Hugs!

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Wonderful news. Tell us about this natural nutrition course and did your doctor's agree with taking supplements? What do you take. Of course everyone is different and at different stages too. So happy this is working for You! Are you on UR SO?

Hi Stella, I must admit that I am not a perfect patient and I make many decisions about my health without asking anyone. So no, I didn't ask about supplements. It's years of following Dr Axe, Dr O'Brian, SCD lifestyle from Jordan Reasoner and other knowledgeable people. They are my gurus and I trust them more than traditional doctors...

Great News!

Domenia70 profile image

Yes, I am on URSO. Have been on it since I was diagnosed with PBC.

What I eat / drink:

- plenty of veggies (including ample amounts of leafy greens)

- small amounts of organic meats / eggs / nuts & seeds / milk & dairy (my body tolerates milk and dairy but we are all different so you have to decide for yourself

- small amounts of oats

- loads of coconut oil / olive oil / butter - all organic. If you are not used to eating much fats, start with small amounts

- chia seeds

- small amounts of fruit

- apple cider vinegar

- kombucha

- kefir

- turmeric / ginger

- herbal teas / organic coffee

What I no longer eat / drink:

- gluten / sugar / processed foods / soda

Supplements:

Omega 3 (good quality), collagen powder (bone broth is better if you have time to make it), Vit. B complex, Vit. D3 + K2, Vit. C with bioflavonoids, milk thistle, L-glutamine, magnesium.

Now I want to say that it is going to be different for every one of us - what works for me may or may not work for you. You just need to try for yourself. That's about it. If you have any more questions, please ask them and I will try to help.

Hugs to everyone and hopefully we will all be well :)

Except milk thistle, l-glutamine and collagen your diet and mine is same. I also control carb but my alt is going up and up not much but from normal to high with in air now 😔..

Domenia70 profile image
Domenia70 in reply toSachin1234

Hi, both L-glutamine and collagen are very important for healing the gut lining, which again is important because it is now proved that all people that suffer from autoimmune conditions have leaky gut. Therefore I advise you to try them and hopefully you will start seeing improvements soon :) Milk thistle supports the liver function and detoxification processes so add that one too! All the best!

Hi Dominica,

I am happy to hear about your progress. I have also seen diets effect on my health. Do you mind sharing some key changes to your diet. What to avoid and what works for you. Have you stopped taking medicines?

Thanks

Hi Mitun,

I am still on URSO. But hopefully with my great lab results I will be able to lower the dose :) All the best to you too!

Urso is prescribed based on your weight only.

Domenia70 profile image
Domenia70 in reply toninjagirlwebb

I am not so sure about it. There was time when I was on 2 tabs daily and then for many years I was on 3 until now. And my weight never fluctuated much.

At least that is what I read in the pbc treatment literature from aasld & easl orgs.

Diet and supplements might helping you not for me😔..matter of fact the only thing which helping me is urso..if diet is the thing for pbc then I should be already in remission🤗..I still eat healthy food and I’m going to continue eating health not for pbc but for my overall health...🙏🙏

Domenia70 in reply toSachin1234

Hi Sachin, I think that quite often we think we eat healthy but we may not realise that we are doing something wrong. If you wish, you could send me your sample daily food journal and I could tell you which foods may be not so beneficial for the liver.

And don't forget that medicines always have side effects. ALWAYS
