Chocolate and Oreo ice cream

I had a chocolate and Oreo Ice cream kind of cluster ice cream ( I haven’t had any for about a year before I got sick) but this killed me it was like a bomb in my stomach felt like cramps in my small intestine like someone is squeezing my intestines all day long until next day felt better but stomach felt little sore from yesterday bomb. I was wondering if this is related to pbc or fatty liver can’t process too much sugar? It’s not the first time this happens to me a few years back I ate chocolate puddin a lot of it and took me the bathroom right away and had diarrea with blood sorry for being so detailed here but I was wondering if this is related to pbc or fatty liver that maybe some us does the same when eating chocolate? Thanks

You might have a sensitivity to milk...sounds like you are lactose intolerant. Nothing to do with PBC. Also intolerance can happen out of the blue even if you were okay eating it before.

Hi 3phyraX

Sorry you are feeling so poorly but I do think overeating can cause us problems. I have copied a sentence from the PBC Foundation Compendium which can be found in the members section of their web site (free to join)

"One of the most quoted dietary suggestions is cutting out chocolate."

I appreciate this is just one sentence and is best read in context if you have some time to browse this document.

hope you are soon feeling better.

Too much dairy fat and sugar for the liver to manage which is a shame chocolate is a no no for me unless I am prepared to increase my Lansoprezole have plenty in though as Easter looms. All things in moderation is the future life is for living and chocolate is as they say to die for

Three most trouble causing foods are dairy gluten and sugar. It sucks.

I eat a small amount of chocolate daily & it’s fine. Everything in moderation.

Thanks for all replies, but actually that was the only chocolate or ice cream I had for the whole day it’s not that I ate chocolate all day long but seems like any amount chocolate not good for me or that amount of sugar not good for me because even if I have a chocolate cupcake kinda feel the same or the discomfort in my stomach but not as bad as the ice cream did wow was horrible gastro did gluten test also other gastro related disease everything normal expect for ama test positive and fatty liver so I was just wondering and lactose intolerance I’m not sure about that since I can eat other stuff that has lactoese like cheese? Cheese doesn’t do nothing to me or cereal but o think is more sugar related because I love chocolate cheese cake and I remember also made me feel discomfort and my tummy even. Acid reflux, I had suffer from acid reflux for along time years, everything that I would eat food would come back up to my troath and even mouth from the stomach it was horrible but now since my diet changed and also after taking the liver support veggies supplement has lowered my love enzymes to normal and the acid reflux is gone I don’t have that anymore like before with anything I eat the problem now is I don’t or if because chocolate is acidy to my stomach or just my body any handle too much sugary stuff :(

Hmmm, 3phyraX, I have very similar issues. Not long ago I had some gluten free, dairy free muffin samples at Costco and I felt nauseated in 10 minutes. I threw up before getting home. I think it's too much sugar that caused too much acid in the stomach. I can't drink milk but moderate amount of cheese is ok. I love cheesy food but do have to be careful about it. I have elevated AMA, liver enzyme is on borderline. I also have elevated pancreatic enzyme (Lipase and Amylase). Do you have elevated pancreatic enzyme?

What kind of veggie supplement are you taking for acid reflux? I have horrible acid reflux for a long time. it's better now but still flare up every now and then. Do you still have your gallbladder?

Thanks,

Jane

I was actually looking at my lab results, and thought they did check my pancreas but they didn’t wow, they just focused on liver but not pancreas i have an appointment next month and defenetly going to ask for pancreas enzymes since having issues with sugary food and fatty food also that’s what I think since looks like my body is losing a lot of fat even if I eat junk food just won’t gain any fat or weight but at least I’m staying at one number and not loosing weight like I did before just loosing weight all of the sudden but my family told me that I looked swollen before so I was thinking maybe was fluid accumulating in my body due to liver problems. Ama test was at 30 score and above 25 is positive for pbc but he said it was positive due to my fatty liver and don’t think is pbc I guess because the number is not high enough not sure. I noticed the skin itchiness is almost gone not completely but realized that I haven’t been felling itchy like before I’m not sure if it’s becayse the weather has changed or because the liver enzymes are down to normal I don’t know but I was super super sick for 5 months I thought I was dying but what I have changed is diet I eat more healthy and less today than before I’m avoiding processed food at all cost it’s hard but posible or at least consuming lot less than before avoiding ham bologna and all those processed food since I used to consume those in a daily basis and pizza hamburgues and all those junk food I’m eating at home 90% the time weekends I do eat out but I try to eat not that bad like pizza or Hamburguer or hot dog. I have t had a hotdog or pizza in 10 months if I eat out I grab Chinese food chicken with steamed rice nothing fried though or breaded clean protein with steamed rice. Also I started taking beet juice every morning I boiled the beet and I make juice with it and orange juice natural one and add celery and it tastes really good. I avoid salt too I don’t add salt on my food and I don’t eat sweets now that I confirmed that I can’t handle too much sugar so the sugar I consume is from fruits I consume at nights for dinner because that’s what I actually crave more at nights sweet or sugary stuff so I do that. For the acid reflux I’m pretty sure is causing us because what we eat so I haven’t had acid reflux now because I’m eating much cleaner than before and my liver wasn’t or is not working as it should do I think is taking a break from big loads of bad food that’s what I was actually thinking umm what am i taking that i don’t for sure what it is but I’m taking veggies supplements of Gaia liver cleanse also apple cider vinegar tablets, vitamin E, also crucíferos vegetable tablets and artichoke supplement. I still have my gallbladder and now that your asking about it I was having the think of it might be the pancreas since if I eat fatty or greasy food it will take me to the bed with a discomfort on my upper left side of stomach like under the left rib I feel like something swollen like a ball or something kind of pressure feeling might be the stomach when full presses the pancreas or spleen since I have swollen spleen by 1cm or 2 cm something not sure but I was thinking since I read pancreas process fat I was thinking maybe that’s why I don’t gain fat at all because pancreas is not processing as it should so I should check on that.
