Hi everyone. I said before I’ll keep you posted about the result of stopping Urso, generally after six weeks without it I felt much better but tested proved otherwise. My liver did like it so looking fo a new doctor to see what else I can take?

I’m sorry. How long have you been taking Urso with success

Please be sure that it is the Urso causing the bad reaction

There’s also the other medication that is supposed to have good results

Thanks Jenny. Yes I believe it’s the Urso but I had been taking it for over 15 years the last two it became imparable (sorry nt sure about spelling) with itch and all the other side affects. Waiting for a referral to go to different especialist!

Do you know what stage you are in? I often wondered how someone could take Urso for so long then one day have a problem with it

I’ve been having problems with it all along and histamine tablets used to get rid of the itch and other side affects my doctor denies all the time it’s because of it. I used to think I’m crazy and all in my head also being stressed about it might be the cause, till one day and after horrible itching for two years trying all the creams that might assist with the problem, I decided enough is enough and stopped the early January. Als I used to be Ok having penicillin but 5 years ago developed allergies to it. I sort of believe that I have developed antibodies against the Urso too!

Hi Evaibrahim60

Ocaliva (Obetacholic Acid - spelling?) is now on the market in the USA and UK - has it reached Australia yet? Hopefully a hepatologist with a different outlook will be able to get you back on track. I have itched since 2014 (diagnosed 2006) and have a cocktail of drugs to limit its impact on my life. best wishes
