Sorry to learn about your suffering. I have also similar conditions. Are you on any anti inflammatory medications? But the thing is with arthritis it comes in flares and the pain disappear for a while. I understand the feelings because when mine flare up I feel like being hit by a truck! Don’t worry try to relax, it sound like it’s easier said than done but that’s the only way to be calm and it will pass.

1997 and that was about 5 years earlier than my HIA diagnosing I saw a rheumatologist and and he said it was fibromyalgia but last year my test results all pointed to the rheumatoid. I believe the best thing is to see a rheumatologist again but try to stay away from stress.

Thanks for reply ... easier said than done at moment but trying 😊 I will call my pbc consultant as gp advised and update on changes and try to relax a bit whilst off work and go from there . I’ve been almost symptom free for last 12 months responding well to urso eating well not smoking exercising etc . I guess it’s a reminder of my condition

Tessiecat,

There seems to be a lot of us diagnosed with PBC that get RA as well. I actually tested negative for RA but they call it "Seronegative RA." For others it's AIH or Sjogren's disease. Some have all of the above and more. 😔

I personally had to see a rheumatologist because the pain got so bad and in turn caused me stress, and there goes the vicious cycle.

The two major drugs I take are of course URSO, and my RA drug Sulfasalazine. I've been on Sulfasalazine a year in April. It has helped me immensely!! My super thick hair is no more 😔. But, I am virtually "almost" pain free. I'll take the latter cause stress causes terrible things to happen to our bodies. And we don't need anything else.

I'd see a rheumatologist and go from there. Or talk to your regular doctor and see what they say. But, living with all that pain and inflammation only causes other issues to surface.

Hope you get some relief soon ❤.

Hi tessiecat,

Sorry to hear you're having such a stressful time + PBC symptoms

flaring up. I've been suffering from all the symptoms you've mentioned

for over a year now, the first two years on Urso being asymptomatic.

Stress definitely doesn't help! Arthritis (in my hands), under-active thyroid

are both auto-immune diseases, and I've had successful medication and

help from GP's and the NHS over many years. The PBC symptoms are more difficult,

particularly the mind-fogging and chronic tiredness, so am planning to

increase Magnesium and Vitamins B12 to help with this + will try to

persuade my GP to give me Vit B12 injections. These injections are v v

good and really counteract Pernicious Anaemia. In the UK these injections

are only given to alcoholics (I had mine when living in the Far East where

the extreme heat & pregnancy compromise one's energy: I've never been

a drinker), but the way I see it, it's our livers that are damaged, like with alcholics,

and we'd have a good case for persuading the medical systems to give them.

I'll keep you posted.

Good Luck with it all

Thankyou please do I take a b complex and coq10 it has always maintained my energy levels up until now. I do think B vitamins are very helpful. It’s the pain both in my joints and nerve that is as well as limiting me physically at the moment is exhausting me 😔 I know the stress has been a major factor but switching it off in life just now is impossible x

Ok regarding the flu jab....it is full of chemicals that are detrimental to liver health; never have this cocktail of chemicals that include mercury if you have liver issues. I used to have this on a regular basis every year but it made me unwell so I did my own research. The best place to research anything is via the alternate press pages. You will be surprised what you can find out. This year for example I discovered that the flu jab for this season was the wrong type/strain. My asthma nurse wanted me to have a flu jab but when I said no because of chemicals and the fact that they did not have the right strain for this year she just said ok and never questioned what I said until just before I left. she said that not many would have the guts to say exactly what they thought and that she did not disagree or agree lol... she also accepted that I like a more natural alternative way of dealing with my body and health and that she supported me fully on that one.
