Doxycycline may be urethra inflammation or prostatitis😔

My pharmacist said no problems with doxycycline and URSO together. 👍

Yes, I can't get on facebook. Eats up too much of my data. We live out in the country and have a cap on our data usage. I was on it but kept exceeding our limit and had costly over charges.

But it was only for 5days due to Chronic Bronchitis

My doctor told me not to take antibiotics (not without ask him first) because it damages the liver. Regarding the rifampicin, he said that's a very strong medicin and its not good to be taken it for more than 10 days.

We always have to weigh the risks when I need antibiotics...Doxy is NEVER a choice as it is considered really bad...

Hi tess303

After reading what you said about Rifampicin it has got me a little worried. So I checked my notes, (just to be correct as I thought I'd only been taking it over a year), and my Consultant put me on Rifampicin in August 2015 and I've been taking it daily since then alongside the Urso. He prescribed it for the itch of PBC as other medicines didn't work for me.

I wonder now if there is anyone else on them both together?

I'll definitely raise it with him at next consultation as I don't need anything else causing damage.

Thanks for the heads up.

You shouldn’t worry a lot you do what you have to do in your given circumstance..I have taken doxy, cipro and another one for a month or may be more..I have made it through that time I m going make it this time also..drink lots of water tho..

I'm sorry if I got you worried. I'm also having problems with itching. I told my doctor and he put me on Cholestiramine. The problem is that I can't buy it in Romania, it doesn't exist here. Therefore, I asked for a replacer, and he told me about Rifampicin but he specified that I can't take it for more than 10 days bcz it can damage my liver, which is sad bcz it really helped me. :( I'm really struggling with the itching.

Bless you, I know only too well how dreadful the itch is. I too tried Cholestraime but it didn't make any difference with me. It was the Rifampicin that sorted it for me. Hope you get sorted soon. Take care.
