Hi, just recently I have noticed that I am getting the shakes quite a lot. Have had PBC for 17years but this has just happened recently. Does anyone else suffer from the shakes?

You might want to get your thyroid checked. That can possibly cause shakes & thyroid issues are common in those afflicted with PBC. Ask your doctor to do the TSH tests on your blood work. Depending on the results, you might want to consult with an endocrinologist.
Thanks I will.
Do you mean your entire body or just your hands. My hands are very shaky now. I assumed it is related to the prednisone I'm on.
Sometime my legs shake and very slightly my head but most of the time it's my hands. I am not on prednison.
Have you talk to your dr..it can be pbc non related problem. Lots of reason makes hands, leg and head shakes..
My hands shake all the time. I had not realized how bad it is until I went to paint my dining room and could not cut in properly. I had paint everywhere. ☹ I give my daughter any painting projects now.
Let us know what you find out. ♥️
My hands have shaked for years not all the time. But as I’m on pred now seem to shake all the time 🙄
My hand have just started recently, mentioned it to my gastro & he says it's cause my muscles are weaker?
maybe should get your sugar checked, my hands shake when my sugar drops low
I've been reading questions and answers for awhile. I'm AMA positive. GI said no PBC because lfts are normal. I have UCTD, and have shakes. My shakiness has nothing to do with meds or UCTD. Have you seen a neurologist? I have ET. It causes tremors in my hands, legs, voice and head. This is a very common neurological disorder. Beta blockers can help. If you put your arms out straight, do your hands shake? Put your arms out horizontal to your sides - now one at a time try to touch your nose with your pointer finger. Do your hands start shaking the closer you get to your nose? If yes, go to a neurologist. Thanks to all of you. Your stories bring me hope that my mystery symptoms will eventually have a DX.
I would agree with all of the tests suggested above, but maybe also ask to have vitamins and minerals checked. PBC can result in several deficiencies, and I think B12 is one where some nerve control may be lost.
So see your GP / specialist and point out that the shaking can be debilitating, and that all possible causes need to be checked.
Take care
I used to get the shakes really bad especially midafternoon. . My Dr put me on chromium Picolinate because he said my pancreas was not processing /converting my foods properly. Maybe get yours checked. It stopped my shakes straight away.
Thanks for all the replies. I will put your suggestions to my GP next time I am there.😊
