Swollen glands on one side

I have painfull swollen glands in my neck on one side, it's really painfull to swallow, but I dont have a sore throat, it kept me awake all night. My docs are shut and Google has terrified me. I have some metronidazole in my cupboard, can I take these with pbc? I've read that there's a possible link with these and pbc.

I see no one has answered yet it's quite quiet on here at weekends. Sorry I don't know the medication you mentioned, however if I were you I would go to a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what you can take, they are fully trained in medications and are often more clued up than some doctors.

Thank you. It's eased off a bit now. I haven't taken any of the tablets, I think it could be a gum infection as it's quite tender so will visit dentist on Monday x

It might be lymph nodes too if not gum infection. You might want to check in with your doctor before the dentist.

i had metodiazinole twice now for water infections and i have pbc glands come up as a reaction to your body fighting off infection could bd coming fro. a teeth x

You shouldn’t take metodiazinole that was prescribed for something else. If you are in the uk you can ring out of hours DR but I really wouldn’t take any medication that hasn’t been prescribed for this condition. Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you everyone, I don't know why I panic now when I get something new. I think it's definitely gum related as it's very sore. I didn't take any of the pills x
