Hi my labs are as follows: AMA 77.8, Anion Gap 13.0, AST U/L 63, ALT U/L 62, Alkaline Phosphate U/L 106, C reactive Protein 17.8 High, Gamma GT (GGT) 45
So far I have not been diagnose, I have the symptoms, itching and I get burning with the itching, pain in the lower right quadrant that radiates to my arm, nausea and exhausted all the time. My numbers are slowly raising. How long does it take to get diagnose?? The AMA is right 95% of the time and it is rare to have the AMA show positive and not have PBC. I am frustrated to say the least, if I have it I want to start on medication to try and slow it down. I had a scan and it only showed my fatty liver

Have you seen a liver doctor? Did you have a liver biopsy yet? The liver biopsy is the gold standard still for many liver clinics/doctors if you can ask for a liver biopsy .
Well I have my Appointment set for Oct 16th, hopefully I can get some answers. Meanwhile itching, burning and so exhausted!! But there is light I am encouraged by this doctor's reviews.
All the same lorilee58, eat a liver friendly diet. Stay away from fried foods. Don't eat too much red meat or none. Only lean meats... Fish and lots of dark leafy greens. Lots of water. No sugar or simple carbs. I promise, you'll feel better. Keep us posted.
Thank you so much, I have lost 22 lbs so far, eating just as you suggested and also doing gluten free. I find if I do eat the wrong things I have pain in my lower right quadrant that radiates to me right arm. The fatigue is tough, the itching burning is driving me crazy. the fatigue is something I cannot explain it is like nothing else I have experienced.
You have very high c reactive protein ! Did They do sed rate (esr test) as well!
High c reactive means inflammation in your body it can be due to fatty liver, autoimmune disease, viral or bacterial infections, cardiovascular problem or cancer ! In your case can be a fatty liver !
You need to do check with cardiologist and rheumatologist just rule out those problem!
I do have fatty liver, Hashimotos, diabetes, asthma and Fibromyalgia. I have seen a cardiologist and been tested for heart problems. I am also seeing a specialist for the Hashimotos (I have had my thyroid removed). The fatty liver was diagnosed in 2008 and there have been no changes as of my last scan a month ago. The AMA has shown positive since 2013 but the number has risen and I have had no symptoms until the past six months and believe me I have been tested for everything including cancer. PBC does run in the family on my mother's side; my Aunt has it and she said my numbers are higher than hers when she was diagnosed. We shall see!
