Joint pain

Hi everyone,

I used to take urso + prednisone for PBC/AIH but my doctor has given me a break without pred for a few months. Now, my joints-especially ankles and knees- are killing me. Any suggestions?

Yes... Try to see a rheumatoid doc. Get checked out and find out what's going on. They will do labs specific to inflammation, check your sed rate etc. Go from there.

This happened to me. (minus the aih) labs showed my sed rate was elavated. After further tests I was diagnosed with seronegative RA. I'm not saying this is what you have but what's happening to you sounds very familiar.

I was put on prednisone off and on. It really helped. But, each time after I was tapered off of it my joint pain returned. Finally, after talking to my hepatologist I was put on Sulfasalazine by my rheumatologist. After taking it for 3 months my joint pain subsided everywhere except my wrists. After further analysis by my rheumy, he says I have tendinitis in my wrists exacerbated by the RA.

I wear special wrist braces right now to stop this wrist pain. They say this helps me rest those aggravated tendons. I'm seeing an OT for this new diagnoses of tendinitis 2x a week.

The Sulfasalazine hasn't aggravated my liver/PBC and I'm tolerating it well thank goodness. My last labs were good with only my alk-phos being elevated (142).

Many times one AI begets another. I read about this on this forum and it's proved true in my case. But get checked out to be sure and get help.

Hi I have PBC and Tendonitis, it's started in my thumb, then my left knee to thigh for about a month then when that recovered after two weeks no brace and my right knee started and have been in a support brace for a month, I was given naproxen which helps but upsets my stomach, I'm seeing a knee clinic finally after suffering for months.

Don't know if it's related or not to Pbc but I'm getting many aches and pains around the body, sick of it all going wrong.
