In getting labs done today too. I can't think of anything else for you to ask. I keep in pretty good contact with my hepotologist. Hope your numbers are good. ❤

How's your arthritis pain? I really need my prednisone lowered. He already said that he's not lowering my azathioprine but he also said no to raising it. I told bob and my teen that if he raises any drugs on me that I'm going to start screaming and crying. to keep from a aih flair up he told bob that he would wait for my enzyme results and determine the dose to lower my prednisone.

My RA pain goes up and down. I'm still in that 3 month window for it to take full effect. But, I can function as long as I don't overdo it. Lol... with family coming to visit......

Eventually, your doctor will take you off the prednisone. That is the whole point of taking azithroprine. Both are steroids but because of the bad side effects of prednisone they wean you off when azithroprine starts working. Which usually takes up to 6 weeks. I start on 50mg then based on my labs at the time went to 75mg and then went up to 100mg which I've been on for 4 yrs. when you have normal labs every time you get labs for 1 yr then you may have the option to stop the azithroprine but it is well documented that more than half of patients relapse anywhere from 6 months to a year after stopping azithroprine. So honestly the meds don't stop. Also, even though you take azithroprine to suppress your immune system and to stop your body from attacking your liver and doing damage, the symptoms of AIH don't go away! Like the joint pain, etc., occasionally you will have symptoms even in remission. Hopefully, the meds work for you.

I'm having my very first hepatologist appointment today also ! Still waiting on a diagnosis if I have the AIH crossover or not. Good luck Jenny ! I hope he says you're doing awesome!

My asthma and alt came down a lot after starting the Urso. One is just one point above normal. Keeping my fingers crossed for today as well. I have my blood tests at 1 p.m. and see the doctor at 2. It's nearly an all day thing for me. It takes an hour and a half just to get there (Denver) with traffic and everything.
