Wonderful news shebalion!! Baby your liver. Steer clear of sugar and salt... carbs (they turn into sugar). Eat liver friendly foods, stay under 70-80mg of lean protein daily, eats lots of greens and med-low sugar fruit. Lots of water. I'm so happy for you!!

Thanks Ktltel,

I have introduced more liver friendly foods, increased my greens, started putting lemon in my water. I am generally healthy but ........sugar is my down fall I find it hard to do this, but I am going to have to pretend I am allergic to it or something lol.....

Shebalion,

I used to eat "cake" in place of dinner. I know... Very bad. I love to bake, especially cookies. I L O V E sugar and candy of all kinds. I make a wonderful English toffee.

But, once I was diagnosed I was scared straight. Really. Now I only have the occasional sweet treat when I'm low or feeling sorry for myself. I don't allow it too very often.

I know others say you gotta live and enjoy life. And that's true, but, this diagnosis just scared me sideways. Then RA made its appearance and I realized all my sugar restrictions didn't keep that AI from rearing its ugly head.

So, now I'm messing around with recipes. Finding interesting ways to cut sugar out and use natural sugars instead.

Still keeping it under control. Somedays are easier than others. ❤

I love cake, but always try yo be good even before diagnosis and go through periods when I'm great and no so lol. I feel much better in myself without too much carbs and always have but my I love them....But yes I'm trying now to not have them and I don't need carbs to enjoy myself.....but trying to not eat as I know it will do me good.....if that makes sense

Great news. Happy for you.

Did you have any symptoms? If so, did it improve?

Thanks,

Jane

Thanks Jane, I don't think I have symptoms. I was diagnosed 3 months ago and floored by the diagnosis. I have a busy life with work and 4 kids so feel tired but unsure if just natural tiredness......My specialist says I prob have had this a long time but unaware so maybe some of my tiredness has been from PBC....
