constant eye twitch

Hi :) so when i was a kid, every now and then I'd get an eye twitch that lasted only for a bit and someone once told me it's cuz I'm tired.

Now both eyes twitch almost all the time....it's crazy. Anyone else have this - and is it because I'm fatigued all the time now.

Hi Becca75

As a child I often had a twitchy eye. I was also told tired eye. I sometimes get it now when I have been doing cross stitch and reading and too much computer time. Whether or not it is from fatigue I cannot guess but I do understand exactly what you mean. Do you also get dry eye? I find that a cold flannel across my eyes or a couple of used green tea bags cold and still damp can be soothing.

Do hope someone on here can be more helpful.

Best wishes

they're not dry as of yet anyway. Sometimes I wonder if they are - but that's occasionally - I get twitching in my eyes quite often.

Hi Becca75, yes I also get a twitch in my one eye, only occasionally and lasts for a few seconds, stops then starts again, that can go on for 10/15 minutes, don't know what causes it, mistery

I always thought it was stress related, but can see how it can be caused by tiredness alright.

Hi Becca75,

I have a twitch underneath my eye that is sometimes there when I wake up and it can last for days. I never had it before the PBC diagnosis and wondered it if it was connected.

The optician said that it is common when you're tired and nothing to worry about and I do suffer greatly from fatigue and so I guess that would make sense. X

ok - that's what I wondered - if it had to do with my fatigue

I get it if I've had too many coffees or just really strong coffee like a long black. Weird but it started when we got a Nespresso machine and I was having too many! Now I have to limit myself to one espresso per day but Blend 43 doesn't seem to bother me :-). Classy!

I don't drink coffee and don't drink tea with caffeine (diet pop is caffeine free as well).

I'd like to stop whatever is keeping it going - it's SUPER annoying when both eyes are going at the same time...

Eye mentioned my eye twitching to my Eye Doctor he recommended quinine water - good tonic water seems to help greatly.

did he say what causes it?

Some sort of deficiency that the tonic water elevates.
