Please help, ESA claim Apr 2014, medical Apr 2015, Tribunal win Sept 2015, confusion over back pay.

Wondering if anyone can help, I was originally on ESA back in 2013 in the Wragby group to which I had the usual medical in April 2014 which I failed on 12 points, I wasn't given the opportunity appeal this and was just put through as a fresh claim from June 2014 (put on assessment rate) Fast forward to April 2015 which is when I finally got my medical date (still on assessment rate)...failed on 0 points, this time I went to LAW Centre & appealed & won in September 2015. In the tribunal letter it says 'decision set aside April 2015' I know this is the DWP medical decision, but is that also the backdated pay date? Or will that be from week 14 of my initial claim in June 2014? Confused because a whole year on assessment rate just waiting on a medical!

Hello Serenityx.

I have never claimed any form of benefit but with now having PBC (diagnosed Dec 2010) I do read other peoples' experiences as I never know in future if I might be in the situation of having to claim on the grounds of having PBC.

I did once find a site that can give information and pointers to disability and benefits and have put it on if that is of any interest to you.

I know others on this site have been awarded the new PiP or have been appealling against a decision so I am sure someone at some point will join this topic for you.
