Hi I suffer severe joint pain too. I was prescribed citralopram by a consultant on a trial basis to see if it helped. It has made a difference albeit the pain hasn't gone, it is more bearable. I had previously been on diclofenic but it didn't help at all. It may be worth talking to your doctor re citralopram or something similar. Take care x
hi yes the joint pain and weakness is awful, I try not to take tablets because of the effects on my liver, I use meditation and I have found after 7 years of this you get used to it, it seems your pain tolerance is higher. i hope things get easier for you, try to remain positive and stay healthy, and calm, stress effects your immune system. thinking of you sue x
Hi
Joint pain is my only symptom and what led to my diagnosis. Since my rheumatologist knew of my PBC, I was commenced on Hydroxichloroquine. It apparently works by dampening down the disease process, rather than treating the symptoms. I was advised that it takes up to three months to be affective, and is was. My joints are now considerably easier!
Good luck in finding something that works for you. X
naproxin has worked really well for me. It was the painful joints and fatigue that lead to my PBC diagnosis
