Hello. My B 12 was 85 when diagnosed deficient 3 yrs ago. 2yrs ago antiparietal cell antibody tests positive. IF tests negative. Some Drs say yes to PA some say no.
Also having issues with low Ferritin. Not sure if that could lean towards a yes to PA?
Thank you for any answers!

Hi Mommer I think the best place to answers to your problems is Guys/ St Thomas's Hospital in London. Make contact by ringing Denise Oblein on 0207188 7188 and ask her advise on who to speak to, the Director of Scientific Research is Dr Dominic Harrington, they can offer you a range of tests in order to put your mind at rest, but you will need a referral letter from your G.P. Good luck with that one, but do keep pushing and if he or she refuses, then ask for a referral to your local Haemo Consultant and push there until they listen. Hope you get sorted ok.
Thank you so much B12 Turbo!! How I would love to talk to who you made reference to but I live in Canada. I will definately keep pushing, I haven't given up even after 3 years of living with all the deficiency has dealt me
Take a look at the description of different types of anemia and B12 deficiency in the link below:
In addition to these detailed descriptions all in one place for comparison, it is my understanding that for PA to exist the RBCs are macrocytic, as opposed to
microcytic.
B12turbo suggestion of getting referal to hematologist is the path I am currently in.
On November 28, 2012 my ferritin was 7, and if you are in Canada you are aware
that provincial limits slightly differ. In Ontario the low is 11. I managed to bring mine up
to 18 on January 10, 2013 on my own findings by taking Feramax.com (site name)
and am waiting for my parietal cells and IF results from February 7.
I have had microcytosis up to the November 28, 2012 blood test. Then it dropped to mild
category, and was absent from the February 7, 2013 blood work result.
