I had my last injection a week ago and finished folate 3 weeks ago. I am absolutely shattered, lack of concentration and trouble with remembering things. Should I go back to see my Dr and should I be on more regular injections, still taking folate and or any other medication? Feeling really down. I was also diagnosed with osreoarthritis in my foot (any relevance to PA)?
I was diagnosed with PA in June - Dr... - Pernicious Anaemi...
I was diagnosed with PA in June - Dr prescribed me 96 days of folate & 3 x weekly injections then 1 every 3 months thereafter.
I was diagnosed over 6 months ago. I was missing 4pints of red blood. I had 6 B12 injections,, 1 every 48 hours, since then I have had 2. But I still feel at times not well, so I read an article full page in the Daily Mail, to discover that in the UK they use and inactive Cobalamin injection, whereas in the USA they have an active B12 Methylcobalamin. I am going tomorrow to discuss this with my GP. In the meantime I found on the Internet you can buy Methylcobalamin, so I purchased 60 tablets and they really help, when I feel tired I just chew a couple and its works quickly. Going to find out if you can get them on the NHS. Hope that helps.
GPs were in denial ,Dentist got referral ,had monthly injections ,2yrs ago was put on 3 mth like you could`nt manage . Went on the net and bought my own Cyanocobalmin & use my Insulin
syringes to inject 0.3ml weekly which keeps my blood results at 1000 which my optimum .
Hi Zann. Firstly I am not a doctor just a normal PA patient like you. On receiving my Neo-B12 injection today I happened to read the sheet that accompanies the serum. I remembered your question and suddenly thought I have seen this before re foilc acid. The leaflet states "Folic Acid administration may impair the theraputic response to hydroxocobalim". Might be worth following up.
But as I said I am not a medical person.
