it could be worth trying. But also have you considered your diet? Try cutting out wheat from you diet? I can’t eat onions now.
yes I did but I went gluten and dairy free about two years ago and its helped a lot 😀
I started getting sore pains in my stomach with wind at both ends just days after being prescribed neo-cytamen and have been taking an IBS medication to help manage the pains / wind. After each neo-cytamen injection (every 4 weeks) it took days to get back to 'normal' and on the third injection got a really bad 'electric shock' reaction all over my body - every part of it, resulting in brain fog, dizzy spells, and low concentration levels lasting 4 or os days before clearing up. Doc has put me back onto hydroxocobalamin again. I'll inject that on Thursday this week and hopefully no side effects. I'm due to get an endoscopy next week to find out what is causing the cramps, but until now did not link PA with stomach pains / excessive wind. Ill see what the reaction from the endoscopy medics is when I inform them of my PA / B12 issues.
Yes to everything you said.........I now grow my own kefir..........easy.........and have a small glass early in the morning and another before bed. I take a digestive aid with pepsin and betaine hydrocloride in before my main meal............and I'm gluten free......I do still get a bit of wind but the really bad pain and bloating is gone.........yeah!!!!............Good luck............X
Hi,
I had years of IBS type symptoms. They improved after I cut out gluten and improved further when I got enough B12.
Have you been tested for coeliac disease (spelt celiac in US)?
In UK, usual blood test for coeliac disease is tTG IgA test.
People with coeliac disease can get a negative result in tTG IgA test if
1) they have IgA deficiency
2) they were not eating enough gluten before blood was tested.
Coeliac UK have useful info on diagnosis.
coeliac.org.uk/information-...
If in UK, search for "NICE guideline Coeliac disease".
If in USA, The Celiac Disease Foundation might have useful info.
Before I started B12 treatment, I was prone to fungal infections eg thrush, ringworm, athletes foot etc and was often bloated.
Might be worth looking into Candida yeast infections.
I cut down on sugary food and that combined with getting enough B12 seemed to help.
I read a book by Erica White which had recipes to help people with Candida and another one about Candida by Leon Chaitow.
You could take a probiotic capsule and an Omega 3 capsule every day. This fixed my Granddaughters gut gas problems in a month. The problem is oft caused by antibiotics killing off the good bacteria in the gut which we need to function. Probiotics reseed us with good bacteria and the Omega 3 helps them do it.
I do, I have changed my diet to as much UPF free foods as possible cooking from scratch but still get it and awful constipation. I had my injection at surgery yesterday evening and today I feel fine even my back and achy arms feel ok.
I do as well, it’s my main complaint after other symptoms have lessened. My gut has taken months to improve but it has. I apparently don’t have celiac disease but I started eating gluten free bread anyway. Probiotics have helped when I have a flare up. Found I can no longer eat chocolate. I SI twice a month. Keep us posted on your next outcome.
Those were my main initial symptoms when I was short of B12. But I agree that it would not hurt to consider what you are eating. My husband made some nice soup for me out of sunchokes without mentioning that a nickname for them is fartichokes. I regret eating a huge bowl of that soup.
Yes and yes for me.
