Has anybody experienced muscle weakness or muscle atrophy in the legs ( especially thighs) , no energy at all in the legs, excessive fatigue , body is always warm ( as if feverish but there's no fever on thermometer) , palpitations during sleep, disturbed sleep , pins and needles in hands while getting up from sleep due to b12 deficiency ? Kindly help. I am 33 year old female, battling this deficiency since last one year exact. Have started my loading dose of injections after every 2 days. Also taking Vit D and Folic acid supplements. Muscle weakness and Fatigue
If you have recently increased your frequency of b12 injections wait and see if your symptoms improve.
I often get weakness in my legs. The last time I tried a walk (sitting on every bench available) on a very familiar route. I was shocked at a slight incline to feel such weakness in my legs. I just had to sit . I then did get home but later that day had a horrendous headache as though I was exhausted and overdone it. I was so careful and patient resting on benches . I loved being out on my own. I recently had pins and needles in both hands and for arms on waking. Not usual for me but was due an injection. As you've been deficient for a year look back if you've kept a diary. Hope you feeling better soon and find the right frequency of injections. Take care.
Hello, thanks for replying. Even I get those pins and needles while I wake up from sleep. Will have to wait in patience to see what difference the shots make. May I know how old are you and since how long have you been suffering from this deficiency ?
Not sure how long. First test was October 2018 serum blood test 106 range 200-900. I'm 25 years older than you!! !
One of my children has b12 defiency too 29 years old.
Seems to affect all different age groups in several different ways. Yes patience is needed . Take care
Yes to everything you mentioned but some have either vanished or are improving since treatment.
Yes, most of it sounds familiar. Keep up the B12, yours was very low and it takes time to heal. I am still in that process myself...
Just wondering: do you know the cause of your deficiency?
Have been a non vegetarian since childhood. So I guess, b12 not getting absorbed by the body. Have to depend on injections
