I’m quite sure that there are forum members with different experiences and reactions regarding Panpharma and Pascoe B12 depot . . We all react in such diverse ways . It’s very apparent when we consider P.A./ B12 d.. Just think of the different dosage regularity needed to keep symptoms at bay. Hope that you get some more responses . I’m interested to hear what others have to say on the subject . I hope that one day the mysteries surrounding P.A./ B12 d will be revealed. In the meantime , while we wait for that , this marvellous forum is a life-saver for us , who find ourselves in the wilderness of this condition . , which brought me to total despair .
I inject subcutaneously. Panpharma stings a little bit, though barely noticeable when injected very slowly. Other than that I don't notice any difference. I also don't know anyone who can inject less with Pascoe, just because the dosage is higher. IMO the more important factor is injection frequency, not the absolute dose. Some need to inject twice a day for instance.
I agree with you about frequency being the most important factor . I inject weekly . I would like to try injecting 1/2 ampoule of Panpharma at the same frequency , but would be nervous about keeping back the other half of the ampoule in the syringe for a week ( with a fresh needle of course) Better stick with what I know works .
I have used both subcutaneously and despite Pascoe being 50% stronger for the same 1ml dose I’ve not noticed any differences in effect. Panpharma stings slightly more but injecting slowly helps. It’s not unbearable.
I haven't used Panpharma but was initially prescribed 1mg in 1ml ampoules. They were of at least a couple of different brands, (one of which I think was Hevert, possibly?). I had to take a lot of sublinguals to boost my B12 intake as 1mg per day wasn't enough for me and I was unsure about doing 2 jabs a day.
As soon as I started using the 1.5mg in 1ml Pascoe ampoules I didn't need the additional sublinguals and really started to improve. I know a couple of friends who find they can inject 2x Pascoe 1.5mg, where they needed 3x 1mg injections daily before.
I've almost always found the Pascoe 1.5mg ampoules easier to snap, better to inject and all round good.
Be aware that Pascoe do 1mg in 1ml ampoules as well as 1.5mg in 1ml ampoules!
I think that frequency of use is more down to how quickly our bodies process each injection. I think the higher concentration ampoules are more effective for higher frequency injections.
I now prefer Pascoe and have just ordered my second box of 100. I found Panpharma would sting a lot which I didn't like!
I hoped that Pascoe would last longer but it didn't. However, since I had a blood test and discovered that my folate level had dropped, I've been supplementing with methyl folate and I'm now able to delay injecting by 12 - 24 hours compared with previous frequency.
I use Pasco 1.5 mg/ml. Inject every third day as that gives more or less the same dose as EOD 1mg/ml. This saves time and money. It works the same as any other. If you get stings its probably because you wipe with with an alcohol swab. I have never had a sting despite injecting ahuge numbe of times. BTW Pasco cyano also works well.
