I was talking to a person in a concussion protocol and the similarities to what they are experiencing is not dissimilar to what I experienced with B12D in many respects.
Brain fog, memory issues, eye issues etc.
It could be related to B12 D and unlikely that any doctor would make a correct diagnosis.

Vitamin B12 deficiency is often misdiagnosed because its symptoms are non-specific and overlap with other conditions. Common misdiagnoses include:
Depression and anxiety: Symptoms of B12 deficiency can include fatigue, low mood, and cognitive changes, which are also symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Myelodysplastic syndrome: B12 deficiency can lead to bone marrow failure and dysplasia, which can be misdiagnosed as myelodysplastic syndrome.
Chronic fatigue syndrome: Symptoms of B12 deficiency can include fatigue, weakness, and poor memory, which are also symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome.
Irritable bowel syndrome: B12 deficiency can be misdiagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome.
Hypochondriasis: B12 deficiency can be misdiagnosed as hypochondriasis.
Other conditions that B12 deficiency can be misdiagnosed as include:
Dementia or Alzheimer's
Multiple sclerosis
Neuropathy
Vertigo
Anemia
Congestive heart failure
B12 deficiency can cause a number of neurological, cognitive, and other symptoms.
From what I understand Acalculia and Dyscalculia are the same thing only one acalculia is acquired usually later in life. Dyscalculia typically happens at a much younger age (I'm partially speaking out of ignorance as I'm certainly no expert here. I've been able to do engineering math in my head forever. But since my severe B12 deficiency, bad enough to be bedridden for months I no longer can do simple math in my head. Like just basic time table stuff like 4x4= ??? . I know it's silly but I now rely, for the first time, on calculators and spreadsheets. I also have real trouble manipulating algebraic equations. I've had many MRIs, Maras, spinal tap, EEG, etc. and was diagnosed with this thing I'd never heard of "Acalculia". Like they couldn't come up with something more exciting, like Pernicious Brain Worms??? 😂
I am good at algebra and a wiz at geometry. Arithmetic is not as good.
My arithmetic and remembering large numbers is better now then it ever was prior to more effective supplimentation.
I am well beyond what others think I experience as they get paid to do so. An interesting one is a dial combination lock. I can not do it from memory and even bought one that uses letters.
I can not count change. Those who rely on training their mind/brain believe that is not true. It is true and Einstein and I share that as well as it being difficult to tie shoes.
I have no abilities I am willing to give up to be able to do arithmetic.

I find it more likely that they are the same thing diagnosed later when it gets worse not aquired. Small children and many professionals get a thrill our of being able to repeat definitions that they learned and lack what understanding is possible due to lack of imagination. I label it IDD Imagination Deficit Disorder. That and Noble Cause Syndrome NCS is systematic in the medical industry. NCS is caused by low self worth and results in trying to compensate with self esteem. Which is why it is so distressing when a patient has a better understanding than they do. Which is a low standard based on they only have training. A lot of it but general.
I experience Dyscalculia. It is odd as I am good at solving mathematical problems. I designed a way to write out the problem without numbers and then add them in to do the actual solve. Or better yet pay someone else to do that.
I calculate percentages by 'seeing' it geometrically. Etc.
I have never balanced a checkbook in my life but have done multi-million dollar costs to complete.
There more we learn about P.A./ B12 d , the more lamentable it is that the medical profession in general is seemingly ignorant about and disinterested in this terrifying condition . It terrifies me for the patients out there who are suffering so badly . They are not all able to access the internet and get the knowledge that we do from being on this forum . They are at the mercy of ignorant doctors . If that’s not terrifying , what is ?
Long Covid is another one that seems to have a huge number of overlaps in symptoms with B12 deficiency, so is it 'long covid' or is it some sort of viral damage to the B12 uptake pathways in the body? Who knows and I doubt if we'll find out in a hurry as there doesn't even seem to be any interest or awareness of the possibility.
My takeaway was not about the doctors or their performance or their systemic lack of ability which is not limited to B12.
My takeaway was as I heal I can take measures to allow my neurological system to heal which doctors cannot. And more importantly that when I do take such measures I can expect to need more sleep and rest. This is not the methodology of all I can and all I have to do is follow the doctors other than a little bit more B12.
I already get as much sun energy as is possible in the winter in NH. My exercise is designed not by what I was told rather what I know. My study staring in 1962 did start with what doctors believed to be true. I abandoned that over time and completely by 1976. I rejected what I saw as the misguided advice of doctors which was determined by my study to be more poor applied science. Not unlike their application of applied science to treatment of B12.
I have an advantage in that I have mitigated the neurological effects of how my body utilizes food and water which includes vitamins and minerals my whole life.
For me supplementing is adjudicative to how I live it is not what my life is about now that I can supplement well enough so my body can heal.
So now I need to design a way to heal my neurological system utilizing what I know about mitigating how my body lived without supplementing.
