General observation on forum posting.

I don't want to make fun of people on this forum but does anyone else find the constant spelling mistakes on this forum as amusing as I do. I also have problems. Despite being reasonably intelligent my spelling is atrocious. I wonder if it is a common attribute to those with B12D? I appreciate that a 'woolly brain' doesn't help but my 'woolly brain' has gone and I still can't spell.

I also think that auto correct, and fleet fingers are responsible for a few of the laughs 😊

In my case, it isn't so much spelling that is the problem, it is typing!

Many browsers (including Firefox that I am using right now) have options for invoking a spelling checker - and a grammar checker. Certainly Safari and Chrome. (All on macOS but similar features are common on laptops/desktops. But quite common, even if less usable, on phones.)

Mine is switched on to help me catch my own rubbish typing. I suggest that it is worth looking for the options and deciding what would help.

It also helps to read posts back before pressing ‘send’ I find 😉

Hi charks,

Oh my goodness, yes. I’m writing essays for studies at the moment and I can write words like enteropeptidase but hang on how do I spell where, is it that wear or ware. Right if I put xxxx, I’ll come back to it. I’ve never been a fan of essays. I’ve got some brilliant paragraphs - looking like a big Valentine’s card.

Best wishes

My post should have read “been together” and auto correct kindly changed it to “bedbugs”. I know what you mean though as I have a Masters Degree from St Andrew’s and struggle with all sorts of things now that I could previously have achieved whilst asleep. The struggle is real x

Yes, I was always excellent spelling, speaking etc, but this has become a huge problem, difficulty now spelling simple words, also pronunciation of words and even thinking of a word in conversation, it’s gotten a little better but it really frightened me how this effected me

Yes, I have found recently that I have great difficulty doing math in my head and I'm and engineer. I just struggle mightily searching my grey matter for the answer and mostly I get frustrated, give up, and reach for my cell phone calculator...thank God for cell phone calculators! Never used it before but now it is my lifeline. But now that you mention spelling...I now have a similar issue with words, not real bad, but seems I struggle with the rules. The rules have vacated my brain...like when to use there or their, or here or hear, yes I've even typed a "hear" when i meant a "place!". autocorrect is of no help for me hear! wait I mean here. 🤣 Thankfully we can have a sense of humor about these things!

I read this forum every day and I do not find the spelling atrocious. (You made no spelling errors, btw) If there are “atrocious” errors it is likely from by a nervous system disorder caused by B12 deficiency, resulting in typing, reading, and writing problems. I admire the people who post here despite their obvious struggle and to do so.

I was making an observation. Not criticizing. I have to use a spell checker.

Whenever I read back what I have typed some of it doesn't make sense and I can't always press the keys on my laptop hard enough, so end up with missing letters. It's really annoying having to go back over it and correct it.
