Im just wondering if anyone has noticed fairly immediatesymptoms after taking sublingual b12 please?
I’ve recently managed to get monthly jabs back ( after a fashion) MCh was still overange on 2 monthly. Know other things can be interplaying am correcting ferritin in 30’s, bottom range folate, vit d, etc, but getting a bit fed up of slow progress.
Thought I’d add in the Cytoplan sublinguals I was taking during covid when injections stopped. I know they weren’t enough to keep my functional deficiency corrected as I got pretty ill, but it did take some time.
So thought I’d see what happens, 2 wks aft injection to take some. Gave me a bit of dizziness & temporary headache few hours later, now by day 3 felt pins needles back in left foot & slightly around mouth which I see as a good sign. The alternative is my jabs wearing off, but somehow I feel it’s the sublinguals doing something.
I appreciate only I can tell that, by stopping them again, but just wondering if others have found them able to help & make a difference. I’d say I didn’t feel this much of an effect after my inj 2 wks ago, but I’ve been particularly tired & achey for sometime, but feeling less so today.
Many thanks

Whether sublinguals work for people is pretty hit and miss - I find them reasonably affective. Personally I would advice not leaving a gap for symptoms to return and starting to use them immediately after injections to see if they prevent the symptoms returning.
Thank you, that's good you find them reasonably effective. Yes, you're right that would be a better plan.
I was put onto every 2 mnthly from 1 mnthly, thought I'd stick to just those onjections & see if I improved. Mch got higher & mcv went to top of range during the 4mnths,even though ferritin & iron lowered,as did folate.
So managed to get monthly ones back! Due to being so achey & tired for weeks & not knowing if its a virus, though no temperature, lack of b12/iron/folate or just healing, thought blow this trialling them monthly now to prove any points or see what happens, I'll try some adding sublinguals again.
The pins needles on feet has returned since taking them for 4 days, had headaches about 2 hours after, then ease,I'm less achey & woke this morning fir 1st in a very long time actually wanting to get up rather than feel rotten & shouting at myself Notvsaying it's a miracle as still.pretty rough, but just wondering if the sublinguals are doing something & as ubsay, if I take constantly alongside jabs whether it'd help. Many thanks...
I started on 1000mcg daily sublingual many years ago. It had an immediate effect on me. But then I eventually stopped absorbing enough from that (tingly sore toes) and had to use injections instead.
You saw an immediate effect too then, but not enough to keep up with the deficiency. When I was on monthly inj I felt they ran out early, but did seem to improve after couple years when the nerves seemed to be healed, though when I look back mch was rising again at that point.I tried solely sublinguals when inj stopped during covid, but no, they weren't enough on own. Although my serum still read 600 I was experiencing pretty extreme symptoms, so may be worth pursuing both inj & subs whilst I correct iron & folate then see what I'm still left with?
I just inject now. I get symptoms back in 3 weeks, so I get my husband to inject once per week. I have however used sublinguals daily when he was not going to be around when it was time for an injection. It happens rarely so I don't have much to conclude about that.
Thanks, hear what you're saying. Was going to experiment with monthly inj for a while & see if mch,mcv lower, but was feeling fed up aching & tired & trialled some subs alongside.Am trying to raise iron, folate & vit d too, so all an experiment. It's either coincidence then pins needles have returned due to monthlynwearingboff, but somehow I feel its the subs as I'm feeling bit less achey, which yd surely expect to worsen otherwise. Oh well, keep on experimenting! Thank you
Just my opinion, but it might depend on the cause of your deficiency? Was it due to lack of meat daily in your diet (as meat has b12) or do you eat meat daily and still ended up with low b12?
If it's the latter, sublinguals won't hurt but they won't help much at all, if you are very low you'll need daily or EOD injections to get back to norm. Left untreated, the neurological symptoms can become permanent. This it's important to get back to norm and not fool around with spacing out injections. If you can't get docs to get on board, find one that will, or like most of us here, get your own supplies and start self injecting.
Thank you! Yes, I eat meat daily & iron rich foods, my b12 was checked somehow by nhs dietician who said I'm eating 570% b12 a day, not quite sure how accurate that is:)I have a functional deficiency apparently, but monthly jabs used to keep mma back in range after being very high beforehand. After a couple years & nerves healed I felt the monthly jabs were working pretty well, although I did become poorly again & mch was starting to rise, but ferritin was low at that time too, & thyroid iffy, so I'm trying hard to work outvwhats what now again after becoming very unwell on just sublinguals.
I def woke up feeling better today for 1st in very long time, pins & needles had worn off, but returned a couple hours after sublingual again so feels to me they are doing something, but as you say whether its enough will gave to trial snd see. Thank you
Hang in there and keep injecting. I had to initially purchase my own injections. I do injections EOD and use sublinguals daily. I also take other supplements, thanks to those on this site, especially Linda in AZ . I'm so fortunate my hematologist was finally willing to listen and did his own research. I'm in the DFW, TX area. I haven't felt this good in many years. Still not where I'd like to be but very thankful for where I am.
