Can you go by blood results?

I took folic acid whrn low.

Iron i continue to take a Low maintenence dose otherwise ferritin levels drop.

Vit C to help absorb the iron.

I take a multuvit on alternative days.

1-3000 I.u of vit D as only stay just stay 'in range ' by blood tests on that dose.

Also k2.

B6 tried but stopped now.

Magnesium i tried but in range on food znd multivit now .

Folic acid in multivit is all i seem to need

I've started Vitamin B complex take CalciD as well was on Folic Acid 5mg but read that wasn't suitable long term although prescribed.seeing GP this week to ask for blood tests to check on all vitamin levels if possible as it seems maybe the key to keeping on top of PA as I have 8 weekly jabs. Many thanks

Yes folate levels shoukd be done.5mg is only needed short term on prescription if you are deficient and after B12 has started .

Good if 8 weekly b12 injections keeps your symptoms at bay

Well not really but I have a needle phobia, SI is out of the question ..fatigue is my worst enemy !

Consider subcutaneous 💉 injections or pushing for more on prescription if you feel you need them.

Anything involving a hypo and me are a no go and there is no chance of getting my GP to agree to more frequent injections

When you get those symptoms back (fatigue) due to inadequate B12, you are also probably having some nerve and spinal chord damage. It would be good to get injections often enough to avoid the fatigue. You could also try taking 1000mcg sublingual B12 every day (in addition to your injections). Some people with PA can absorb some B12 when they take that much.

Folate blood test showed 17 range up to 20 so think I'm ok on that front ..my concerns are now focused on Hb and Hct levels the latter has just gone into the red at .48 Hb just inside range at 163 ..as this has happened in last 6 weeks wondering if B complex has impacted or perhaps the folate as I believe they are linked to iron intake ..no medical background and my research hasn't helped me thus far ...guess I will stop complex to rule it out !

My iron and ferritin are still ok post infusion last November and WBC back up having dipped in September..another wait to see my GP no doubt !!!

Yes sometimes the more we look the more we find .I used to try and study any changes in my regular bloods taken.

( no medical hat on) but to ask questions.

Grasping at straws to get myself better .

Recently by BP was of concern.

Nurse did it with my consent.

Usually I run on the low side.

Didn't get it checked again.

And didn't buy a BP machine as suggested .

Last b12 at the surgery I asked her to check my BP.

After injection 💉

It was right down again ???

Thete are often variations we never usually get to know about .

My ferritin dropped.

But was it raised at previous test as inflammation high ??

Again I seem to run on the lower end .

I struggle with that even with low dose iron supplements.

As hair nor falling out anymore and restless legs gone must be okay for me??

VitD only just in range on daily supplements.

I got plenty of sun thus yesr so will be interested to see if higher now

I now have 6 -7 monthly bloods .

Not been refused yet .

Cholesterol being monitored.

That's gone up?

Folate at upper end .

Not what you're looking for?
