So, I'd switched to injecting every day, from EOD, for the last week (I'm just over 7 weeks into self-injecting).
Apart from my very distressing blip last week when I had an adverse mental reaction (I think) to hospital sedation and the stress of a colonoscopy, I hadn't noticed any ill effects from the switch, and had even had a few evenings of 'normality' (freedom from anxiety and depression).
In general, unlike my early days of injecting, despite the increased injections I had not found any increase in needing to pee after these recent injections. It was almost like my body was absorbing all the B12 I was giving it.
Yesterday, I had extreme anxiety all day - Literally couldn't relax or sit still. I didn't want to take a diazepam, because they seem to simply put me to sleep for an hour, & I wake up with even more anxiety!
So, I held off until early evening, then could take no more.
I thought 'if I do a second B12 injection, what's the worst that could happen?'. So I had a second Hydroxy injection of the day, almost 12 hours after the first. Almost immediately, my body calmed down, the anxiety went, and within an hour I felt hungry and 'normal'. I had a few hoursc of normality, and swapped some text messages with wwwdot! I did find my mind racing slightly more than usual at bedtime, but I was still able to get to sleep.
Anyway, this morning I thought 'I'll go back to one injection a day, but keep an open mind about a second'. So I had my 'normal' B12 injection at 9am. Almost immediately, my normal morning shakiness got much worse, jitters increased, almost felt like teeth chattering. My blood pressure eventually went down, but was 190/130 for a while (I'm on medication for hypertension, which hasn't seemed to work properly since I was diagnosed with B12 symptoms), but thankfully has calmed down now.
I'm just starting to feel slightly calmer, but the other thing that has happened is needing to pee large amounts of completely clear unrine (sorry, TMI!).
Could it be that this is the symptom of just too much B12 in too short a time period? Or a shortage of another co-factor? I've been trying to get my potassium in, but as mentioned previously, one of my medications keeps my potassium high, so I have to tread carefully.
Finally, does anyone know anywhere in the UK that does private U&E blood tests (potassium & sodium)? My GP won't give me another test, and I can only seem to see them via a hospital or the NHS.
