going on holidays on plane with b12 ampoules and needles etc

I was diagnosed PA 20 years ago. and had monthly injections. I moved to England and new surgery. After blood tests I was reduced to every 3 months. Then when Covid happened I was told to get the b12 lozenges from chemist. I knew I was going backwards and all the initial symptoms returned so I started to self inject and I am so good now. I haven’t told my gp that I am SI . Now I am off on a plane. How can I bring my B12 kit with needles and syringes. Will it be allowed on the plane. Please help as my surgery does not have my old files when I was diagnosed with PA.

Hi,

I hope you find an answer to taking B12 supplies on plane.

In some countries it may be possible to buy supplies over the counter in pharmacies.

"Please help as my surgery does not have my old files when I was diagnosed with PA."

Just wondered who diagnosed the PA and how long ago it was diagnosed.

If it was diagnosed in hospital there might be hospital records still existing.

How to access medical records (UK)

patients-association.org.uk...

Retention of Medical Records

bma.org.uk/advice-and-suppo...

I'm not medically trained.

Thank you sleep bunny. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago with my gp at the time. I later moved to England and my medication at the time was continued. But I’m told now that previous medical details weren’t updated My surgery receptionist is not very helpful. Thank you for the email that you have given. I will see if I can locate the original files..

I travel an awful lot, to lots of countries and have never even been challenged having the whole stab kit in hand luggage.

Recently flew for the first time since self injecting, it was with BA whose online advice is to carry medical supplies in cabin baggage. I packed everything (including my diagnosis letter) in a clear plastic tub and no one at security was in the least interested! At a big airport they must see hundreds of injecting diabetics passing through every day, and I'm sure you will be fine. Enjoy your trip.
