My hands ache, and especially a couple of fingers on my right hand can be very painful. My right elbow is also painful. The g.p. said it's carpal tunnel although she didn't examine me. However, the rheumatologist says that's incorrect and I have tennis elbow. He did actually examine me.
I'm wondering if there's a connection between tennis elbow/ carpal tunnel and P.A?
Also has anyone's hip pain improved with B12? Thanks.

I suffered with carpal tunnel long before my B12 deficiency was diagnosed, the hospital gave me splints to wear but nothing eased the pain. My left elbow became very painful and still is today. I have had a variety of suspected causes such as gout, ostio arthritis and golfers elbow ! I can no longer lean on the wretched thing because it hurts so much. The other week it flared up to the point I was unable to use or bend my arm ......so now on steriods to stop the inflammation, it's unbelievably painful. I think the inflammation is caused by our low B12 which exasperates it. ☹
Looks like that's our tennis and golfing days over ! 🎾 🏌
Oh no. Sorry to hear that! I've previously had frozen shoulder both sides which eventually got better. I've got so many aches. I think the backache might be permanent. I'm so hoping some of the other aches aren't permanent.
I'm not going to hold my breath on that one but we can hope. I have a scoliosis of the spine so my back pain is permanent. My ESR has been raised for ages and so is my uric acid ! I was prescribed some tablets to help with the uric acid which then depleted my potasium and lowered my kidney function ! I cant seem to win no matter what I do. Recently diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica, I had never heard of it.
There may be an increased susceptibility to tennis elbow with hypothyroidism from googling. I developed tennis elbow a year ago and it is now nearly better. I would recommend seeing a physio for an exercise plan and massage. You have to rest the elbow and start gradual exercise of it. There is a fine ballance between too much and too little. With time the tendons settle but it is slow. I think being well medicated is also important.
Hiya...your story is like mine... it got dual tennis elbowr amongst other symptoms) developed suddenly (over about 3/4 weeks) I dont type much at, dont play tennis etc, and dont polish diamonds... GP does some tests were i am borderline MCH very low on MCV , low folate and ferrityn.. But says...you over 60..it happens..its idiomatic..hey? do you eat enough liver..?
He was a idiot for thinking...its idiomatic I found - didnt say that to him of course he was a nice GP just...not that deep on B12 Physiology. I was on high dose PPI for way too long....this can have major impacts ... plus being a weekend " its 6pm" pop the cork love! - type - i think i slowly ran down my B12 / B6 store levels over 3-4 years..
I sort think you have nothing to lose in trying a B12 regime with extra B6/B1 or B Complex. Get on that for a few month maybe... ? There is guidance out there on there - but many in here use a dosing regime / frequency that suits them better. Have a gander around the forum.
Also, ensure a good 3 veg 1 meat/fish diet, and NO - or very low alcohol. But that's me being too much.. Big Sister! soz!
Just my experiences here Sue, I know nothing about anybody elses condition.
Best Wishes lovely.
PS - my dual Tennis Elbow ? - it was really painfull...all the time and worse at night..could not lift the shopping without pain.
